Ok boys & girls, put on your thinking hats...

Question

here's an uncommon plant to figure out....Its very deceptive in that a person is tempted to reach in & touch the fine green hair like leaves, but Yowza, watch out for the uniquely shaped spines!

Any ideas?

It looks like it would be in the Alluadia or fouquieria family's but I have never seen ether of these species with leaves like that.

Do you know what it is Zelly?

Cheers

Tephrocactus aoracanthus maybe? But those Didiereas look close too. I guess maybe even more. Can you tell if it´s rather a Succulent or a Catus?

I win? Yay! Can I have one of these awesome Gandalf-trees as my prize? Where did you find it? They are very cool, I can just picture this plant with long grey hair like an old man sitting in the middle of the garden overseeing all the young green whipper-snapper-plants... He needs a pipe though. And a wizard hat.
