Halcyon Daze Posted October 17, 2013 Just came across this big fat peru/macro in a front yard and the nice guy happily spared me a cut. It all got even better when he took me around the side and showed me a nice big bridge with a few fallen limbs. The peru was mega spikey and fat I tells you and the pics don't do it justice. All he told me was that he planted them 20-30 years ago because succulents seemed like a good idea at the time, i.e. no-fuss garden plants. What a legend
hostilis Posted October 17, 2013 Those are beautiful for sure! Gigantic plants. :D So did he tell you what species they were? Or is that just a guess?
PhoenixSon Posted October 18, 2013 nice find, that peru sure is fat, bridgey loooks scrawny as compared to the peru.
Halcyon Daze Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Just a wild guess... The bridge was about the girth of an average PC, but it was a fallen limb so it had gone a bit funky. The Peru is quite a fatty and real looker, definitely worth sharing around in the not too distant future. Sorry about the big photos, musta uploaded from the wrong folder... BreakingBarrett Posted October 19, 2013 Awesome find, they are majestic looking trichs. He must be proud of those cacti, and sounds like an awesome dude to give you some cuttings.

Halcyon Daze Posted October 19, 2013 He was a pretty cool dude actually. I'll have to come up with a good name for these clones sometime because 'Bruce' is already taken. Maybe a good idea for a comp when she's ready to share around.
