hostilis Posted October 26, 2013 Beautiful flowers my friend! I love it! I can't wait to have a collection of this magnitude. Once I get my own house in a desert area i am going to go nuts. Here is a picture of my first cactus flower ever and my only one this year. Of course I took 500 photos like a brand new father would of his child. I missed it when it was opened the most though because I was working. But here is some pictures (sorry for the flood of pictures from 1 flower)

~shameless~ Posted October 29, 2013 Smart phones suck Anyway all winter my chooks been dust bathing near the base of this cactus, quite heavily some days and it may have stressed it a little. The shorter 'trunk' has 13 buds on it, whilst the tall one has three! Not really flowers but I should be epic when they finalise themselves.

bogfrog Posted November 3, 2013 Astrophytum myriostigma v. Tricostratum Eyrioscye species (sorry i forgot the name) ...is anyone else, like actually addicted to their garden? I get my garden-fix every day, if i get home after dark i still go watering and check out my plants with my torch. On the rare occasion i have to spend an entire day away from the garden, i actually feel depleted and cranky, like something important is missing. Tending my plants is actually soothing, rejuvenating and energising.
hostilis Posted November 3, 2013 I am highly addicted to my garden. I spend at least 2 hours a day looking at my plants. Even sometimes after my lights turn off (or the sun goes down) I will go look at it with a light just to get my fix.
mutant Posted November 3, 2013 torch, late at night, and watching my plants, hehehe, so common for me. because I am mostly a night guy, I am actually doing most of my work on the roof at night. I love working with plants at night. Not forgetting some flowers open up late at night.... and its one of the best watering times for both cacti and real plants...

J Smith Posted November 6, 2013 I'm guessing this is some sort of echinopsis, I got it unlabelled from Hamiltons years ago. I also don't know if I've missed it completely open or if its still to come.

I have a Validus cutting which looks like flowering but not sure yet so will post up later. I hope it does flower as would love to cross this Macro with the Validus.
