Crazy nausea in the mornings

Recommended Posts

Sometimes the symptoms of an allergy don't show up until the next day.

Coffee is one that can have delayed onset of symptoms.

try taking some ginger product of a morning for a few days, such as proper, brewed ginger beer such as Bundaberg GB. Grab a few bottles and take daily, see if it makes a difference.

This is a good bit of advice at0m...as a temporary. I suffered from "sympathetic morning sickness" with my wifes recent pregnancy...I'm not joking by the way  . Some may call it "pathetic morning sickness", but ginger definitely works. We worked together at the time, so we were always together, this could have been the contributing factor.

Unfortunately Bundaberg gingerbeer is out of my current diet allowance (low-carb. I've been noticing huge results for the 2 weeks I've been on it). I'll look into other ginger products though as a temp. fix until the appointment.

I'm not sure what the contents were or even what it looked like.

it varies but more often than not nope. I usually eat 5-6 hours before bed.

I've had similar symptoms since my late teens/early twenties. I know what it is like to feel immobilized by nausea every day for weeks or even months. For me, it seems to be anxiety-related, although I believe there is a physical predisposition (and anyway, anxiety is as much physical as mental).

One of my biggest triggers is life stresses and rapidly cutting down Cannabis use. One feeds into the other, and can become a waking nightmare. If I am really stressed, the nausea can last all day, mild stress it will just be a few hours.

Ginger tablets worked ok for a bit, but seemed to create a lot of bloating which eventually made things worse.. give it a shot though, it is an anti-emetic. Peppermint oil was not quite as good as the ginger, but it took the edge off but created horrible peppermint burps (sounds nice but it's not)

For me, all I have tried that works reliably chemically to stop the nausea is Cannabis, lorazepam, olanzapine and doxylamine, but none are really good long term solutions.

Lately, I have come off olanzapine and the nausea came back. I experiemnetd with low dose (5-10mg) of promethazine, which worked very well. I took 5-10mg 2-3 time a day at first, but lately I have been taking it prn, and I have only needed about 10mg every 2-3 days on average.

I know others have used metoclopramide and ondansetron to good effect during pregnancy.

Here's a handy list of antiemetics:

Good luck man, let us know how you go with it and if you ever want to chat, you know where I am.

*edit I am only suggesting antiemetics for after you have ruled out possible non-anxiety related causes with your doctor!

I think that the explanation here might be pretty simple and Torsten and some other people already pointed you in a good direction with Helicobacter Pylori. The human body builds most of its gastric acid at night what causes the stomach to be more upset in the morning than during the day when it has to do with digesting the food you eat. Also, the concentration goes down the moment you drink. If i were you, i would have a bloodtest for helicobacter because this weakens the whole gastric system tremendeously.

Cheers chilli. Sounds very similar to me.

The more I think about it there's a very high likelihood that it's stress and/or anxiety related. For the last couple of years I've been putting myself under a lot of stress. They often aren't even things I should stress about but do anyway. The anxiety popped up around the same time too because of similar trains of thought. Slowly, but surely, progressing with this though.

I'll ask the doc about helicobacter aswell. Everything is still a possibility.

Cheers guys :)

could be a yeast/candida infection.. that can cause nausea. Is your tongue white?

there used to be helicobacter pylori breath test, where you drink some fluid, then blow in a tube and send it off to the lab - no bloods required.

Its been a few years since I did testing so I dont know if its still in place or not.

But this would be the first thing I would consider for your nausea!

(Im a bit late I know)

Sorry for the shitty ending but I never ended up going. Anxiety got the better of me. I've been trying to keep my thoughts out of stressful areas and it appears to be working. Haven't needed any antiemetics for the last few days.

Phew. Im the opposite, I love the attention once I'm in that little room, just me and the doc. Mullumbimby had the sexiest doctor in the known universe.

If ur freaking about seeing a doctor, do you also freak in other social situations? Life in general?

I know when I get the freak outs I get crook guts as well.

It is where we bury a lot of emotion yes?

Anxiety sucks.

Pretty much every social situation (even with friends) and yes, a shitty feeling in the gut is one of the many effects it brings on.

i over flew, all replies so, i got some idea, what has been said, but i could have overlooked things....

atOm, how much pot to you smoke?

no need to answere though, if you feel unsafe to do so.

some pot smokers get, morning vomiting sessions, once you stop pot it will go away.

we had two threads about this here. the more pot you smoke the worse it get's.

not to say, it's what i suggested.

but it leaves me now to say what lot's of people told you to do, go to a doctor or anothe specialist.

doctor visits are fun, most doc's are very open minded.

in my town, most of the doctors say, pot is good for you in moderation, hehehe.

early detection of problems is the way to go, and if all is well, it's even better.

not going to the doc, if you have problems, is not very smart.
