We’ve been fighting them for a number of years and sometimes it can be difficult to see light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how hard we try or how logical our arguments seem to be.Today we’ve made a significant step towards one of those goals, the government has announced in-principle support for introducing a R18 rating on video games; this means that its introduction is now all but certain and we could see it being implemented within months. Moses Posted August 20, 2011 hah,good luck though personally i dont think you'll have much luck softening censorship in australia. years ago i had running fights with censors over horror content and the gist of the fight had them telling us they were the reason snuff films,beastilality and peodophilia films were not shown at cinemas not the fact that those films are illegal. friends wrote horror comics which were saleable in aus but he had to send off shore to get mass produced(cost saving) and was charged with importing questionable material when he got his own work back(it was destroyed).bunch of do-goody douche bags IMO. love to be proven wrong though. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The post in question was relating to censorship puritans always doing what they do best, regardless of this apparent win for common sense. It seems a bit naive to assume Moses commented on this without reading the original post first, in fact that would make very little sense, especially considering his post was on topic. I feel terribly bad for you that you're so annoyed by your inability to see the relevance of peoples posts, it must be frustrating to be annoyed by such insignificant issues. At least you can express your frustration with rude comments and then say 'woe is me' when people negatise you for it, oh this pack mentality I can't believe it, it's just so pathetic. Distracted Posted August 24, 2011 Cheers for the headsup on how this is progressing synchro, i was following it rather closely and signed the petition a few years ago but have since stopped reading gaming news. As most of us are over 18 this won't affect us too much but what it will do it make games like GTA 18+ which better reflects the game's vibe. I remember when I was 12 or 13 I got $50 from my grandmother and went into a videogame store and bought the original GTA for the PC, it had (18+) written on the box but the guy behind the counter didn't seem to mind me buying it off him BTW 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

All for the right reasons too!, but bear in mind also all that Synchro might be having a bad time atm....we are all to guilty of jumping to conclusions because it's easier to see it your own way rather than the things you may not know may be going on this persons life right now. Same goes with the El Dude....remember we are all really on the same team here... and well, I took moses's response the same way too as the thread is about Video Games, not Porn Vids. Surely we can all agree that Video Games of the Violent/Sex type of "Predictive Programming" are dangerous to fragile clean minds and we know exactly the way they are utilised. I agree on the "Calm Down" but sometimes that in itself can be infuriating when you feel you are contributing something worthwhile, thus the forceful response. Anyway I reckon it's way overdue.
