Lethal '2C-E'

Recommended Posts

We thought it important to warn our members about the following:

On March 17th in Minneapolis and on May 7th in Oklahoma two groups of 19 people total were hospitalized and 3 people died after the ingestion of 2C-E.

2C-E has been used over 20 years without serious incidents. 2C-E its onset takes 2 hours, while the victims experienced effects after only one hour. This gives a serious indication that the 2C-E bought over the internet was tainted or mislabeled. We have just received news that this is indeed the case.

According to police the 2C-E involved in the death in Oklahoma was purchased from chemicology.net The website is no longer active- and it is unclear if it was taken down voluntarily or by the authorities. It is very likely that the Chemicology was

supplied this 2C-E by a Chinese vendor. Chemicology was a US based vendor selling only 2C-E and 2C-I .

If you have bought product from this vendor then do NOT consume it nor let others consume it. If you have purchased any product from them recently please contact the staff.

The 2C-E causing the Minneapolis death and hospitalizations is said to be ordered online from a Chinese vendor. It is currently not known which Chinese vendor is involved, nor if this vendor supplied other research chemical vendors.

For this reason we urge you to avoid all 2C-E. Please spread the word.

You left off the last word..."total". i.e. it could have been one group of six and one of 13 etc.

Cheers for the public service anouncement, it doesn't affect me personally in the slightest but I understand the need to get this sort of information out

Thanks for the heads up.

Hard to know if the story is true or not but its a timely reminder none the less.

Loads of people in the WA doof scene are being sold "bromo" as "LSD" and it has always worried me.

To anyone in WA reading this please think twice when your are handed some "ACID" at a doof, or on the street for that matter.

Keep safe all.

When was that, Zen? We got some blotters around NYE 95-96 that I'm sure weren't acid. Not sure what they were but out of the ten or so people who took it, on wound up in hospital, two completely lost their shit, one guy had an epileptic style fit and one felt so disturbed by it that it affected him for months. People who didn't take it who were there say that it looked like a casualty ward where we were.

I had a wicked time!!!!

No idea what it was but it was extremely heavy, very visual, very deep and while similar to acid, had quite a different character. I'd love to know.

IME bromo iz good/great. Only prob comes from dosing. High doses can cause severe vasoconstriction and lead to loss of limbs or even death. So those few who eat not just 1 or 2 ast a time or over a night, but when 5, 7 or 10 are consumed.

5, 7, 10?

5 maybe if the blotters were weak, but I refuse to understand why someone would want to take 7 or 10, especially in a social situation. I worry for our society...

Bromo takes longer to come on than acid? Would that account for people thinking they've got weak acid so ate more tabs to make up?

Every drug has dangers at high doses, even things like lsd that are technically non-toxic. That's why it's so important to know what you're taking and how much.

For years from about 2001 onwards it was suggesting among many discussions that blotters around Melb were not syd. Some people agreed, others less so - then the real deal returned.

Ill find the article its in my favourites somewhere - there were a couple actually.

6 hours of feeling tired, cold and vasoconstricted... No where near a bromo ride.

I remember some dead shit suggested at one stage that the real deal was still around and then told me that my group of friends just wasnt in the know before supplying a friend with more of the six hour yawner juice...

Another example - 6/7 samples did not contain the claimed substance:

Note: Australian laws are significantly different to the UK

Buying 'Legal Highs' from the Internet Is a Risky Business

Many drugs sold as 'legal highs' on the internet do not contain the ingredients they claim. Some instead contain controlled substances and are illegal to sell over the internet. These are findings of Dr. Mark Baron, who bought a range of tablets from different websites to see what each contained. The study is published today in the journal Drug Testing and Analysis.

"It is clear that consumers are buying products that they think contain specific substances, but that in reality the labels are unreliable indicators of the actual contents," says Dr. Baron, who works in the School of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Lincoln, UK.

Baron says that buyers need to be aware that they have no idea what they will be taking and that some of the products could contain illegal substances. "The product name cannot be used as an indication of what it contains as there is variation in the content of the same product name between different internet sites," says Baron.

Recently there has been an explosion in the number of substances deemed 'legal highs' that can be found readily available on the internet . The UK and other governments have acted to control these products however, manufacturers and suppliers seem to be one step ahead as they attempt to offer new products outside of the restrictions of the current legislation.

Baron set out to determine the drug content of such products. Purchasing them was easy; numerous online legal-high retailers market a broad variety of products advertised as research chemicals, bath salts, or plant food although clearly marketed toward the recreational drug user . "No guidelines exist as to what is sold and in what purity and consumers are led to believe that purchased goods are entirely legal," says Baron.

With just a few clicks Baron bought MDAI, 5-IAI, Benzo Fury and NRG-3 from www.benzofury.me.uk and two MDA-labelled samples from www.VIPlegals.com and www.wide-mouth-frog.com. Six out of seven products did not contain the advertised active ingredient more disturbingly five samples contained the controlled substances benzylpiperazine and 1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperazine combined with caffeine.

"These findings show that the legal high market is providing a route to supply banned substances," says Baron. He hopes that this work will help consumers become more aware of the dangers of purchasing products from the internet.

At the same time, legislators need to think fast. "As legislation deals with the current crop of products we can expect to see new products appearing that try to find a route of supplying previously banned substances," says Baron.

An analysis of legal highsdo they contain what it says on the tin?
