Mckenna agrees with me!

Recommended Posts

Watch and listen the whole video.

It would appear Mckenna and I share many beliefs... such as the idea that all plants should be legalized.

All of you who give me hell for my philosophy, start giving Mckenna shit.

I can cite him in a number of other places where he obviously indicates that he holds plants in higher respect than synthetic psychoactives.

He even notes my idea about distilled alcohol vs. natural wine, beer, mead, etc.

Mckenna quote- "It is technology that takes harmless habitats and turns them into addictions"

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ka1boYq7uis

Thanks for the the post. I'm sure the members of this forum will be fascinated to learn this surprising and little-known view of mckennas regarding plants over synthetics.

And you certainly came to the right place to argue your point. An ethnobotany forum is the ideal place to push for a change of certain laws.

And i think anyone who wants to give mckenna shit will have as much success at getting their point accross to him as it is to you, him being under 6 foot of dirt and all.

i dont get what the -3 is all about, your post was stimulating and certainly changed my views. i never would have agreed with your views had mckenna not shared them.

I have more plants than I care taking the time to photograph them all, sorry.

How about your young Ilex vomitoria?

Have you worked out how to determine gender before first flowering?

Mckenna comments on LSD and shares many views with myself

mckenna lays out exactly what i've been saying about the use of synthetics vs. plants...

hahaha, you really don't get it do you?

Ummm... can anyone please explain this to him?

:BANGHEAD2:

Did McKenna agree with you about letting go of ego? did you come up with too?

[edit]

cheers for the links by the way, Terrence has a way with words that explains it all quite well, seems a lot of hippies are either McKenna fanboys, or he just hit the nail on the head more or less.

Terrence McKenna is awesome therefore so are you Teotz, high five!

For curiosities sake tell me if you agree with this poem

"When your mother has grown older,

When her dear, faithful eyes

no longer see life as they once did,

When her feet, grown tired,

No longer want to carry her as she walks -

Then lend her your arm in support,

Escort her with happy pleasure.

The hour will come when, weeping, you

Must accompany her on her final walk.

And if she asks you something,

Then give her an answer.

And if she asks again, then speak!

And if she asks yet again, respond to her,

Not impatiently, but with gentle calm.

And if she cannot understand you properly

Explain all to her happily.

The hour will come, the bitter hour,

When her mouth asks for nothing more."

why plants are better than other drugs...

define "better".

if you were having a heart attack would it be better to take aspirin or brew up some willow bark?

we should be learning from samples and farming and cloning in a manner that shows sustainability in the long term

respect bro, i couldn't agree more!

teo bro wondering

Psychoactives which are considered worthy of use must have a "yes" answer to the following questions-

1) Does it come directly from natural sources? Is it a plant? Is it organic?

2) Does it have a long history of human usage? Has it been scientifically studied?

3) Does its history of human usage and scientific study show that it is relatively safe and non-toxic?

4) Does its history of human usage and scientific study show it to be non-addictive and non-habitat forming?

5) Has it been proven to be an effective psychoactive?

fungi are not plants.

non-toxic is pretty vague. even many vegetables have toxic stuff in them. ayahuasca has so many different add mixtures its impossible to nail that one....and many are quite toxic.

why are only those that answer yes, worthy of use? Brugmansia is used in eye medicine and is pretty scary to most people. just as one example.

i don't see how worth, useful, human history etc has anything to do with the fact that nature should not be banned. aside from conservation, i can't see any logical reason for outright banning any piece of nature. i mean, its like saying its not ok to be naked in our own body. its just ridiculous.

oh, wait....

Many more people in common society would agree with my idea over y'all "all drugs need to be legal" philosophy.

The point of this thread was to show respectable, intelligent people such as T. Mckenna hold similar views to mine.

And furthermore... my philosophy, the philosophy that plants should be legalized (first) is actually started to be realized (medicinal marijuana, etc) so why not hope on the train and see how far we can go? Hell the tracks may end with all drugs being legalized... but first lets make a stop at the plant legalization station :)

Well somebody bloody well better get on to that then....what are these lazy hospital bureaucrats doing all day besides taking 3 hour lunch breaks and counting the costs of the crappy meals they serve to inmates, always looking for a cheaper nastier source of jello and meatgizzard loaf.

Mexico is talking about the legalization of drugs to help curb the massive crime problem there....every country KNOWS how to eliminate the drug problem, which is simply a criminal problem because they cash in on it. anything becomes a problem once there is more demand than supply.

drugs, water, oil, food etc etc.

...that is when you artificially limit supply and create this idea of scarcity.

Why are we so hell bent on sving human lives....people gotta die to keep the natural balance happening, I never ever got this philosophy of sving everyone form dying or hurting them selves, the equilibrium has shifted to a scary level where there are more living and being born that dying....things gunna change and shit will happen to correct this balance...let people take take what they want and train staff to deal with it and burn the corpes and sell it off as fertilizers in woolies.
