DiscoStu Posted July 27, 2014 watched nymphomaniac, was this movie supposed to be controversial? i can't remember, nevertheless it was quite engaging not not in the same class as antichrist or melancholia though a lot of interesting themes though
etherealdrifter Posted July 27, 2014 well, not necessarily a movie but this series is really strong. at the end meh(we all make up how we think it should end) still a really engrossing series espesch if you can (like you should) sit through a whole stack of eps in a row to get the writers/direstors true intentions.
incognito Posted July 27, 2014 Samson and Delilah. Aussie version. Powerful film. "His unforced message is that there is no hole you can't crawl out of, especially one you have dug for yourself. Salvation comes through self-respect, faith, strength of character and, above all, love."
PositiveHAL Posted August 14, 2014 it's probably been mentioned but transcendence (johnny depp) wasn't bad got the ol' noodle scratching

upside Posted August 15, 2014 ^ I believe it is from the never ending story! Awesome movie,, one of my fav's since a lil tacker :-) I loved the skeksi's, land stryders, the old lady with one eye! Recently watched Don Peyote,, really enjoyed it and will need to watch again tho,,
rigger Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) ^ That's cool too but I swear that's Dark Crystal which was also a cool movie from our younger times! They drain those little dudes too! Not by boring them but really drain them. Unless it is just symbolism showing that the skecsi were a boring race?? Edited August 16, 2014 by rigger

Yawning Man Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Grave of the fireflies, Oh my glob. What a sad film. I'd put that on par with Requiem for a Dream in terms of how depressing it is. Akira, yeah I can see how it's status as the first Manga automatically gives people bias. I've read the manga it was adapted from and I just love it even more now. The idea of a disenfranchised/disillusioned youth who's given the power of a god. Farrrk. I'll admit I'm bias. I just love it. Some films for you to consider: A perfect world Edited September 26, 2014 by Yawning Man
