Tripitaka Posted December 10, 2008 Ahhhh you wonderful people, thanks for the love. Had such an ethnocentric day. I visited Indrachowk, the Newari incense traders and soaked up the wonders they has to offer in large baskets. Ground sandalwood, rhododendron, dhups, resins, datura for witches incense. They6 are all raw materials and this is where the locals come to make their blends. I found the name of the district where I can procure all the raw mineral pigments for Thanhks painting in the next district. There are no tourists here and I can have real conversations with the locals. I met a younf Tibetan Heroin addict who is HIV positive. He uses brown suh\gar and jokingly shows me his NA keyring as he drinks Chang a fermented rice beer. His heart is gigantic, I am glad I was wearing my sunglasses. The pharmacies are insane. I could sedate the entire yak population of Nepal if you understand my horsish sense of humour Opidol, colnazepam, uppers downers, sideways for $2AUS a blister pack. Not why im here but though it may be an interesting anecdote. Chitterapatti is where you want to be. There is a five way street oif sorts with pharmacies everywhere. Not as seedy as the last time I was here. The smell has penetrated me and i trod in cow shot this morning. In Pokhara now getting visas sorted and then upto Ma\nang. Look forward to sharing the uncensored version with my friends when I get back. Thanks for the warm wishes, very felt. Love love Chen den (They call me because of my name) hehe Namaste
