Μορφέας Posted July 11, 2007 Never been before, Never been to a 'doof' or anything, so il be heading down this year! Whos going!?
genki Posted July 12, 2007 ill be there with my brother in tow, possibly a could of other friends. this will be my 4th november earthcore and im kind of excited about the changes they are making: smaller crowd, different location, no 'rave' stage. should be interesting to see how it turns out, in the past earthcore has definately been the most commercial party it sounds like they are trying to take a step back from that image. hopefully they scrap those nasty smelling semi-trailor toilets and go with something a bit more user friendly like the rainbow serpent ones. are you going with a group of heading there solo? folias Posted July 14, 2007 Worst festival I've ever been to... like some of temporary 4th world country/outer suburb where they had a paint factory and plastic manufacturing accident. Everything totally fruggered apart from the sound quality... Julian.
mesq Posted July 18, 2007 Earthcore isn't a doof. It's an outdoor electronic music festival. Very Big difference. I went to the Earthcore in Victoria in 2005 with Hallucinogen, GMS and 1200 mics, and that was really quite good, hated the vibe though. I played at both Earthcore QLD events and they were also quite good. However if what you are after is a "doof" experience then there are way way better parties with far better music and much nice vibes that are alot cheaper than earthcore. I will be going to EGA 2007 www.entheo.net which is on the same weekend as Earthcore and bound to be a more enlightening and excellent experience for all involved. It's not too late to sell your earthcore tickets

AndyAmine. Posted July 19, 2007 Its a shame they have become such a 'display'... the first ones were really quite good and were probabaly some of the first 'doofs', in Melbourne anyhoo. Personaly I havent attended one since around 2000, that was enough for me.. LOL.
Conan Troutman Posted July 19, 2007 If it wasnt for all the dirt/mud, police dogs, electronic music and commercialism it would be great!
themagicmushroom Posted July 20, 2007 earthwhore, most unedifying experience of my life. NEVER AGAIN. psy partys in general though...:D
ayjay101 Posted July 31, 2007 I'll be heading down with a small crew and would be happy to meet other plant ppl there. I've been going to EC for the last few years and while it's very true that it's nothing like the smaller and less commercial doofs, it's still possible to have a great time there. This year it seems they are trying to make it more doof-like - no hard dance floor should mean no munted candy ravers causing ugly scenes, less of the big name commercial acts, limited tickets etc. Some good names on the line up this year too: electric universe, space tribe, sesto sento, lish, SUN project, x_noize etc.
RonnySimulacrum Posted July 31, 2007 I will be going to EGA 2007 www.entheo.net which is on the same weekend as Earthcore and bound to be a more enlightening and excellent experience for all involved. It's not too late to sell your earthcore tickets Funny stuff, thanks for that Mesq Yes and no about EGA and Earthcore clashing The people that are heading down for the Vic Earthcore can stay on and go to EGA the weekend, I certainly hope you do as I would love to here how your reviews But the Northern NSW Earthcore is certainly on the same weekend as EGA, but loads of people are opting to travel down for EGA that weekend. Respect to them
Echo_ Posted August 2, 2007 Time for me to leap out of lurking and into action! Earthcore is a real mixbag of an event and it has really good aspects and really bad aspects. I went to the first three events at Undera but skipped last year because i'm SO sick of that venue. I will be going this year and i'm really amped about the changes being made! Like people have mentioned though, the vibe can be pretty nasty at times, and the HUGE crowd is very overwhelming, so hopefully the limited tickets will stem this. It is a really good chance to see a bunch of masive acts in one place, however, and it's a far better option than seeing them at the prince or the metro or something. Plus i'm looking forward to Sigue Sigue Sputnik...
