SaBReT00tH Posted May 31, 2007 I had a dream last night that I went to a gathering at some unknown SAB members house interstate. There he had subs growing and a variety of beautiful fungi carefully propagated, including some nice translucent clear ones that looked like jellyfish. I remember last year or so I had a nice dream about a foreign cactus garden too, and remember golden barrels being there also.
Ace Posted May 31, 2007 Interesting dream Sabre - any ideas what the translucent fungi were? They sound kinda funky Were these cultivated too, or were they wild?
Kenny Blister Posted May 31, 2007 lol, I'll always dream of them this time of year. When the dreams start I know it's time to go huntin'

muscaria Posted June 11, 2007 Nice pics. How far out from sydney are you looking...roughlyh. A friend of mine has been also poking around Sydney for days and the only icebergs he's found are his wet cold feet! He'd also love to know if Apoth's finds are inner or outer Sydney! Please help with tips for the desperate!!!!
muscaria Posted June 11, 2007 I wonder if we will be so lucky......make sure you check old old posts for info. Some say there are patches in inner inner sydney...not sure where though. Hi Greencavefloat.... When I say inner Sydney, I don't mean inner city. I just mean somewhere within the 'burbs, as opposed to somewhere near the mountains. Cheers Muscaria
SunChaser Posted June 12, 2007 (edited) Just went to check out my favourite patch after all this nice rain. Edited June 12, 2007 by jabez
apothecary Posted June 12, 2007 subs have been spotted in Sydney from right up against the harbour all the way into the Blue Mountains. Nice finds jabez, I was in Melbourne yesterday and did some poking until it started pissing down, and then I didn't have a chance to check the same spots again (which were rife with indicator species) today before the plane back to syd. SunChaser Posted June 13, 2007 (edited) Heres two pictures of a patch I started my self. Two seasons ago I went and droped about three large dried subs in a mulch garden that looked perfect for subs but but didnt have any, this is the result Just two little patches in the whole park, didnt pick them left them there to expand and hopefully start competing with those red caped mushrooms which grow everywhere in the mulch gardens in this park. SunChaser Posted June 13, 2007 (edited) Heres a few I found in some bushland. And heres the largest one I've seen this season (picked by a mate) You cant miss in melbourne at the moment I "sited" over 90 mature undamaged subs out in the bush, which is normal for me in suburban parks but I think is a personal record for me out in the bush Edited June 13, 2007 by jabez
Conan Troutman Posted June 14, 2007 variations on a theme... and WTF are these plz??
SaBReT00tH Posted June 15, 2007 Conan, I've seen that fungus growing on my back lawn. Think it's just a wild non-active one that makes you sick. Sometimes seems to have a hairy type look underneath the gills of the cap. They seem to look a little like subs except I don't think they bruise blue like subs do.
