  1. found this info at this link... http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=22876 QUOTE: It may not be that good for in a garden setting, but a good way to get rid of Nothoscordum gracile aka "Onion Weed" growing in lawns is to Find where leaves emerge from the ground and dribble machine oil onto them so that it coats & smothers the bulbs to death. Burkes backyard site mentions A few drops of turps down the centre will knock it over for keeps. From another messge board " Onion weed loves superphosate If you feed it with superphosate the bulb will expand until it bursts killing the plant" Removing the tops before they set seed will help. Wick or blanket applicators and sponge gloves using 5 g metsulfuron(600g/kg) or 500 mL glyphosate(450g/L) plus 2.5 mL wetting agent per litre of water are useful in sensitive areas or over legume based pastures. Other than removing the top 8 inches or so of top soil they are a prick to get rid of, Persistance is the key! I Will see what else I can find on the subject an post it here. 2. c'mon, harmless python. So, you have them in your area? Awesome.
  3. I was Googling trying to find all of the sites that i read about 30 deg' Celsius being a maximum for drying, and it seems i must have dreampt it 'cause i cant find any of them. What i did find is a thread here at the Corroboree. Here is a snippet of what Torsten had to say... QUOTE: Heat will almost immediately destroy psilocin. Heating shrooms in plain water to near boiling even momentarily will eliminate most if not all psilocin. Psilocybin on the other hand seems to be quite resistant to such short term heat exposures. Food dehydrators at their usual 50-70 degC for the minimum time required don't appear to cause any loss in expected dry potency. ie this method is no more damaging than using dessicants at room temp. 4. You know, i had a feeling you would say that.<___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/newimprovedwinkonclear.gif Nice to know. Just goes to show that you cant believe everything that you read !
  5. I too was looking into food dehydrators but was concerned about the high temperatures involved. As we know, the active ingredients in Psilocybes can be destroyed above 30 Deg'Celsius ( so i have read ???). What is the temperature variation of these dehydrators, min/max ? I have used rice as a desiccant but microwaved it for a few minutes and it becomes a moister magnet.(IME). @ tyler83durden, Does the contents of the bag smell like mould or musty ? Edit; For future references, it appears that i have been misled with drying temps.<___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif Disregard above temperature.<___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif
  6. ^ what a contraption. I found the glass cones broke too easy, one good tap with a lighter on a hot cone and it was all over.
  7. ha ha, Suffer <___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
  8. Yeah, i am aware that the tree was/is inside the Botanical Gardens, but i reckon give it 18 months and something might show up there.( or the person responsible may be apprehended and tell us his story). Where i am , there was a proposed freeway which was being protested as it meant clearing a section of bushland which housed possums, echidnas, reptiles ,frogs...etc. Any way , last summer, there was conveniently a fire there which wiped out most of the bush . Now the freeway is under construction. Also, another possible reason is that a colony of Flying foxes roosted in that tree and the chattering pissed someone off !
  9. When are you going to share your style with us Rabaelthazar?. You could all jam together... The Corroboree Band.( With a name like that , 'Spose folks would turn up expecting a full Aborigine band)
  10. <___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif . Agreed. I was thinking they have twice the the voting power, you know, more negative votes to put out ?!
  11. I went to bed last night with this on my mind. I was wondering ...WHY ??. Inspyght's theory about election eve is a good one and Torstens 'remove the tree for a better view' was close to what i was thinking, but this is what i came up with... 1). There is a proposed road or building of which the tree was in its path. 2). The spirit of this River Red Gum spoke to the perpetrator and asked them to release it from this form 3). The perpetrator was tripping and thought the River Red Gum asked for its release. Will we ever know? I believe in Karma. And yes, this was only one tree, but think of the stories it had to tell.
  12. What F*#~"* would do this to a tree that is several hundred years old ( or any tree). The media probably shouldn't advertise this, it may start up a copycat . Maybe the tree will send off new shoots from the base.
  13. Yeah, sounds nice. In a breville/jaffle with cinnamon sugar.
  14. Do you mean an apple slice (that with pastry) or slices of apple ? ' Cause all i can imagine is a cake sandwich . <___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
  15. That camera looks the bomb. Big LCD . Should invest in a screen protector lens .Tell ya what, I'll swap ya for my 5 year old Canon for your new beaut Pentax.
  16. reference to post #12. You have provided great photos for an ID . Could these be a form of Chicory ? We might have to wait until it flowers to get a few more clues as to what it is.
  17. That's all i use to use to hold a cone in a stem. It worked fine. ( though , Blue tack just isn't the same these days.)
  18. So was that a yes, you've seen butterflies around the Cape Leewin Wattle? Just trying to source some butterfly eggs for the upcoming season.( and possibly some seeds of this tree for variety )
  19. Whilst Auxin's idea sounds great, What about a heat resistant glue, like an automotive glue/silicon ? Here's a link for some adhesive that is heat resistant up to 312Deg'c .( just for an example) http://www.infolink.com.au/c/HB-Fuller-Company/HBF260-heat-resistant-RTV-Silicone-available-from-HB-Fuller-n831618
  20. Not at the moment. I have kept many a variety though. I have got mudskippers at the moment. When they live their life out, I would like a big tank of dwarf Cichlids. Yeah, they are so protective of their babies and territory. The Jag' Cichlid is a fairly big fish, hey. Big cichlids have such personality. @Young nugget. I am not familiar with the Wolf Cichlid. Just Googled a pic, they look awesome, lovely iridescence.
  21. New camera? that's exciting. What did you get?
  22. Deb-one-amine, do you see any butterflies near them? I would like to grow a few under controlled conditions as a food plant for caterpillars.
  23. Cichlids are the most interesting fish to watch. Did you breed the Convicts and that is why you have excess?
  24. How much can a koala bear <___base_url___>/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
  25. Yeah, i was aware of this Gallerina apparently containing psilocybin , but wasn't going to mention it as i wasn't sure of the claim.
