The Russians may need a day or two for transporting air superiority fighters and other equipment back into Syria, maybe put some ships off the coast.  Then its no fly zone for the US coalition, Australia included, perhaps over the entirety of Syria.  Im not sure about Israel but theyd want to be careful entering syrian airspace.

Again I am just guessing but what else can they do?  

We are now closer to the brink.

Dont forget Chinese support in the UN is a gimme.

A punch to the face is coming and I hope for our part, turnbull and bishop handle this with grace and humility.
