  1. Hey Jox I am good thanks and hope you are also I was thinking it was a bit warm also, my brother and I today found some cubes in our new area, some quite large, so that said, i think subs will be more active after these cold mornings on the way and the next lot of rain. Yes they are very rare especially in the wild as you said. That is true, are they native or introduced to the SE QLD. I have seen your photos in the past in bark chips, for the wild, i wonder also, not saying the mountains dont have the climate of the south in winter. Even down south i think they are more prolific in man made gardens over the wild (though I have seen some pretty good flushes online of them down south in pine forests. I assume the subs would like a more open (light) environment than rainforests, as down south usually found in pine plantations or woodland.
  2. back to check the paddock today, wasnt expecting much with it being winter (start of), there were quite a few cubes, but we had to search for them, i would say this place would be prolific in summer
  3. That is interesting Psilly Simon, to hear maybe all the rain caused them to fruit as it has been relatively mild with the rain about, but that is great to hear Jox, i guess because they are more rare than our cubes
  4. That is great to hear RC. I think, we relied on our old patch, which wasnt producing anything but was constantly wet. Roadside viewing didnt work, had to explore the fields to see the cubes, though we managed to find a great paddock west of the ranges, and last week collected some cubes of various sizes, today it was sparse with a few old small cubes, so i would say the season has ended, now its time to find the QLD subs- once we had some cold blast and some rain
  5. Hey RC and fellow shroomers Have you found the season bad for cubes? We did a bit of travelling today without luck the other day only a small lot of tiny cubes.
  6. Good to hear RC. Strange down here in the Gold Coast Hinterland, had quite a bit of rain, tally from home now is 428.5mm all up. Mountains some would have more, assuming the lack of full sunny days, yesterday was the first really sunny day yesterday , today is cloudy and we had a storm last night. I cant see shrooms on the footpath but the grass is dead is places still from the dry. The field is close so maybe a gander today or tomorrow. Actually i saw a non active Pan in the mountains, haha it was funny only shroom about, but loved the mist, felt save in it. Hi Boof, Its not the place at Kyogle? I am not sure i can mention names. I got rainforest plants from a nursery for regen at home from NNSW as the plants were better and bigger than regen plus more variety. I'll DM and mention a few names that might help. Hi Wile, I saw some more showers through Toowoomba last night. I noticed the poor dry rainforest at Redwood when I went up the range back in August, i could see dead trees maybe from the weed invasion or the dry. Cubes and Subs? around the Toowoomba area in a good season? I hope you found some cubes or meanies
  7. Here in my part of the GC hinterland had from this event 398.5mm. Only like a few mushrooms in the ground and the field i go to, is so damp and wet, there was nothing there but saw some fellow hunters we all kind of went our own way, we checked the better part of the field but nothing yet, I still have some dry, when i get a few fresh will return dry spores to field. something to from last season last year March 2019.
  8. :) Hi Jox,

Its awesome you found subs in QLD. I read also them being found near Byron Bay, so they would be in the SE QLD mountains , maybe even Brissy hinterland, possible Bunyas northern most range

wonder why i am always at your profile visits, your page is my way to shaman forum :)

  9. maybe the farmer feeds on worms lol, no idea, what also seems strange abstance of cows last time, grass a bit higher than usual ( not the long sort of grass seen on the lowlands). I did see a new pat or 2 though, maybe de stocked a bit * update went to usual field, in the mountains, found a few cubes this time, finally
  10. Had some good rain where i live, creek flooded, and burst its banks, be nice to have cows in my suburb, would have gone off Crazy farmer had time on his hands that day lol, is crazy for sure, the cubes will find a way, Good luck if you venture out hunting I read of subs being found around Byron Bay, if that is the case, you'd expect the mountains of the SE QLD and NSW would have a chance for subs Yes, last year i got a cube or 2 in May, this in the mountains on a cool day 16c, mind you it was stunted, compared to earlier in the season
  11. I missed, your post Repsonsible Choice, yes some cant wait for them to mature a bit. I like to wait just a day or 2
  12. Hi Ph7 Yes, usually it used to be good for 5 or so, or at least2 or 3, i know its probably been picked by locals and others for sure, and gained for more popularity or the cubes are in in full swing yet Another crazy thing in spring the cow patties were all flipped, should not hurt the cubes though I love all kinds of mushrooms also, certainly fun finding super huge ones, shame they were not actives, only need a few to be set for a year lol I like to wait a day or 2 also, give them a chance to pop up, cant always go by home either if the mushrooms came out or not. This estate was once a farm back in the late 70s, be there wouldve been some nice cubes here, as its rather a shroomy spot. Especially north of brisbane, some great totals 100+ mm. On the GC, not as good, but will see what turns up
  13. Hello Ph7, white gills most likely non active, and 3 or so fake blue meanies, and one cube. Possible someone beat me there, hard to believe just one cube, went back again after the rain, not anything, see what happens after this lot of rain
  14. Had a bit of rain in the GC hinterland and around home. Some mushrooms were up a few days ago. Went to check, but found some larger than normal non actives and only one small cube, poor lonely thing, either field had been picked earlier or the rain wasnt enough. Had some more rain down here, so wait a 2 days or so, to give them a chance to pop up
