Hey folks. I thought I'd pick your brains... I'm planning on taking my eldest son on a kayak and camp trip these coming school holidays. Some easy going kayaking in a double kayak (which I'd have to hire) and then a camp out under the stars, talking about space and life and lego. Anyone know somewhere within a few hours of Sydney that fits this bill? Preferably a bush camp, rather than a van park or something like that. Cheers!

^^^lol, But on a serious note, if society collapsed the USA would probably be one of the worst places in the world a person could possibly be. I mean, it's not the millions of Americans who have been imprisoned for many years by there own government for completely benign reasons and are now just waiting for any opportunity for vengeance against society that I'd be worried about. It's not all the gangs who have the fire power and man power to rule the streets in a collapsed society that worry me either. It's those Christian right wing extremists that will make the united states of america the most dangerous place on earth to be in a collapsed society. It's actually illegal for the US federal government to regulate the weapons that get sold in America, so in reality no one has any idea how much guns americans even own. Some of those sick psychotic christian extremists who have more money than sense, probably have there nuclear proof bomb shelters, completely packed with enough weapons to initiate there little holy war. They'll end up walking the streets shooting anyone that doesn't think, talk, act or look like they do. Peace

If you look carefully at your photo of the ports, you'll find that your 10 sheets of Lucy are actually "acid free". Hope you didn't pay too much for them.

Well, i admit we americans have it lucky, our having fed upon the resources of the world collapsed the global economy sure, but thankfully we have grown fat and bloated and ignorant, the average american is fat and about as smart as an 8th grader... and tastes a lot like pork. we have a potentially unlimited resource in the form of calorie rich land whales, their fat can power our lamps and bio-diesel automobiles. from their skin we will make tents and clothing and skin for our drums we will carve flutes from their bones and use their intestines to string our guitars this is truly the return of the great white buffalo

why does everyone continually back teotz with all his indiscretions, from the majority of cooler or leadership group type members they always give him the sunshine of the day, the keys to the city but i cant really see why. Honestly it doesnt bother me one little bit teotz has never affected me negatively or positively but i just want a basic reason why when 90% of the rest of the world doesnt abide by this (mis?) guided loyalty. i got bored one night and in a response to a thread comment it revealled a poll that at the top of my head revealled that most members who voted just think teotzlcoatl is just an organised group or computer program or similar, probably right too now considering all the similar replies stated above repeating themselves. so what do you know bigwigs, reveal to us why you want to go gardening on a sunday with a computer program?

One thing a lot of people don't realise is that supermarkets and similar shops don't have storerooms anymore. They simply have loading bays. Everything is stored centrally at their distribution centres or preferably at their supplier's warehouses near the central distribution centre. I think woolies has them in brisbane and albury for example. We rely on transport [roads, fuel, and drivers] to get everything from far away. If one of those cogs fails then we have nothing. Imagine an epidemic that takes 50% of truckies off the road? Imagine another oil crisis that takes trucks off the road? Our food distribution system is very vulnerable and will let us down eventually, so food is at the top of my list of things to be independent for if the need arises - both short term and long term. I can cope without power and without fuel quite well, but food is kinda essential.
