occidentalis Posted January 30, 2005 Hmmm so is Dragibaceae a monospecific family or are there others? I've been wondering this for a while but strangely I can't find much info
Happy Cadaver Posted February 1, 2005 I thought i'd worked it out then, but it was a native i was thinking of. And it was in the leaves not the roots. Oh well! A mystery is better anyway!
Torsten Posted February 1, 2005 No, it's not the pepperberry And yes, it may well be found in a native one of these days.

teonanacatl Posted December 9, 2007 (edited) What do we get if we get it right :D Edited December 9, 2007 by teonanacatl
teonanacatl Posted December 10, 2007 maybe I should rephrase that. It took me about 10mins but I found the plant this is from and the article. Has precursor for MMDA, MMDA-2 and MMDA-4 and in decent amounts MMDA-5 was not made either yeah?
ENtiTY Posted December 10, 2007 Come on Tort spill ya guts. Its almost been 3 years, surely that goes well beyond what normal peeps would call "quite soon". Couldn't be arsed playin with the stuff, but I just gotta satisfy me dang naggin curiosity .
Torsten Posted December 11, 2007 IT's been so long I've forgotten. seriously. It was a member of the Piper genus and I am bound to have it on file.
Torsten Posted December 11, 2007 Found it. It is Piper auritum. The 3-methoxy-4,5-methylenedioxallylbenzene is present in the roots. Torsten Posted December 11, 2007 Never got a reply from Sasha on this one, but have just emailed him again to chase this up. Just so there is no misunderstanding, my interest in these oils is purely from the perspective of their metabolic possibilities, ie the possibility of biogenic MMDA-4 via liver [proven] or other tissues [speculative]. Illegal chemistry is bad, m'kay! Whatever happened to cookie-monster? did/does anyone have contact with him? curious how he mentioned the ACC all the way back in 2005.
