theobromos Posted September 5, 2003 I am against the death penalty, because some people may be innocent and some other people should be kept alive to psychologically torture them for decades. If he is pro-life why didn't he appeal against his death sentence? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3077040.stm

Slarty Fart Blaster Posted September 5, 2003 Only in America would you have "Pro-lifers", whatever the fuck that means, side by side with "Pro death penalty" freaks. Sick, sick ,country.
faustus Posted September 5, 2003 couldn't help but laugh to myself when the news reporter said, "authorities are on alert for pro-life extremists who may see him as a martyr..." dear god, save me from your followers. and theobromos i agree with what you're saying but there are some people like child killers who i don't think should be given the right to smile, laugh or experience something beautiful ever again. Thelema Posted September 5, 2003 personally i would think it a good thing if former child killers could laugh agin to themselves and in a world that let them. because someone has done something horrendous, to condemn them to joylessness? - i find myself more optimistic and hopeful than that. nabraxas Posted September 5, 2003 "Oh the irony and hypocracy of the situation" --exactly the thought i had, along with- what a waste ov life, on all sides.
Tryptameanie Posted September 5, 2003 quote: Only in America would you have "Pro-lifers", whatever the fuck that means, side by side with "Pro death penalty" freaks. That's what you think. The fucking right-wingers who were elected to do our SRC newspaper, "honi soit" , at Sydney Uni, ran back to back articles for the death penalty and against the morning after pill ( it allows conception to occur, and so is MURDER!). Darklight Posted September 5, 2003 What- a University paper? Are you sure they weren't taking the piss? I mean, not doubting yer judgement for a minute but has the world gone mad? That was a rhetorical question
MrBumpy Posted September 6, 2003 Darklight : I can believe that in a uni paper...its not just the feral socialist left hippies with newspapers at uni anymore -bumpy
Guest electro Posted September 6, 2003 twix, i dont care what peeps have done .. even if someone is beyond recovery (via psychological treatment, not by being stuck in a violent box) then we should at least study them to ..1) find out why, then once thats aparent,2) spend a shitload on trying to fix the circumstances for others so that it doesnt happen again (rather than attacking the symptoms [ie the product of the circumstances] like we seem to do for everything else, right down to the common cold). just because my idealistic world wont happen doesnt mean we have to join in with the masses and contribute to the problem Thelema: Here Here ! couldnt have said that better ps i am not attacking anyone here, just expressing my point of view
faustus Posted September 7, 2003 electro i completely agree with you, along with thelema. what you're both saying makes complete sense to me. but now picture this: you're a pregnant woman, your ex comes into your home and starts attacking your small children over child support payments. these kids have done nothing wrong; they're innocent. you try to defend them, but the cunt manages to stab 3 of them to death and almost kills you (and your unborn) as well as another child. i don't know the exact details of the story, but this is what happened in QLD recently. when i heard about it, i just felt like crying. just thinking about it makes me sad. my point is, if you can honestly say that this scum should live another day then you're definitely very strong people and your forgiveness is truly beautiful. i don't think that abortion guy should've been killed, but i think this bastard definitely should. ideally, i'd like to say that he should live too. but i just can't do it.
