karode13
So we have The 1st. The 8th and the 15th ---Kiaora Ethereal! <3 Let's work with these magic numbers and add no more. I'm not fussed so I'll leave it to others to speak up with a date that works for them. Once we get a few yays for a date, we'll go with that. I'd personally just call the 8th but I don't want Stu to miss out. Any chance of making the 8th Stu? carlturney
Hi All, I am NOT free for 1 October 2017. I COULD attend on 8 Oct, and PREFER to attend on 15 Oct. As usual, will bring plants, seeds, etc. to give away -- if I can attend. Need to know ASAP, so I can prevent any other things from conflicting. Cheers, Carl
irabionist
I'm happy for any of those dates
Yeti101
Depending on how I'm settling in, I may be able to make it to any of those dates (though the 8th could be a bit iffy).
etherealdrifter
Spring has sprung and the 8th is a date. if ya cannot come down for an hour or two and hang that's cool.......we really need to just make these meets a first sat/sunday of each month or bimonthly to avoid hassles of "she said, i said, they said, i said nothing....who's talking" type of thing. hope you are all jumping around planting seeds and putting them overwintered plants back outside.

carlturney
Hi All, I'm gonna be there, and bring stuff to share, on Sunday October 8th 2017. Is it right to assume "the usual"... noon (sharp) in or near the Tecoma pavilion, at the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens? Will also bring along an "agenda" of things to cover, regarding the MAXimum promotion of our little meetings, during my "practical hands-on gardening workshops" at EGA in December this year. The last few meet ups I've managed to attend had NO one, or only a couple of other people show up. (That makes it not worth all the traffic, parking, loading/unloading, preparing, etc. from way our here in Ferntree Gully.) Cheers, Carl

Yeti101
I've got a few big days leading up to this, so I may be a little rough around the edges, but if I'm able to get upright, I'll be there!
Amazonian
I'm still unsure if I'll make it to this meet. It'd be good to meet some new people and give Yeti a traditional 'new to Melbourne' initiation ceremony ( If I don't make it, there will always be a next time. I hope the weather is great, especially for you yeti, it'll be cold if the suns not out. .
simhanada
hoping to make it too. If I do I'll definitely be late.

carlturney
HI All, If you made it yesterday: It was great to catch up; to share fine food & drink together; and to swap seeds, cuttings, plants, and gardening ideas. If you didn't make it: Boy, did YOU miss out. :-) Remember, we're tentatively scheduling the NEXT one at noon on Sunday 17 December at the Tecoma pavilion in the Melbourne Botanic Gardens... The first weekend after EGA 2017, to maximise the turnout of newcomers. Carl p.s. Look for my hands-on round-table discussion of gardening skills, at EGA. Your participation will be much appreciated.
obtuse
Sorry to miss you Carl. The Acorus gramineus look wonderful btw, gorgeous little flowers. 17th sounds good and doable.
Yeti101
Though I couldn't stay as long as I would have liked, I agree that this was an awesome afternoon. It was great to put a face to some names that I've been been conversing with for 10 years (or more) and it was really nice to feel welcome in a new city. Will definitely try to get there for the 17th.
