Stillman Posted October 12, 2013 Its throwing big secondary lateral runners, I'm going to snip and bury the bulk. I don't have the space to let it run so will be interesting to see how much that limits its growth.

Bigred Posted October 13, 2013 im just getting the flowers starting to develop now. I am also leaving one in a small pot and stress it out in order to stress out a male. Been dying to put up some photos but dont have a camera atm. But the green house seems to be working very well.
Stillman Posted October 14, 2013 I got male flowers opening and a lone female flower forming. I should probably not pollinate this one and let it grow a bit bigger but I am feeling paranoid about how this plant is going to take my summer so setting fruit as soon as possible. My goal is to grow a pumpkin I can't pick up. I reckon I can do that this year.
Bigred Posted October 14, 2013 i plan to build a catapult and send it in to the horizon . IndianDreaming Posted October 15, 2013 ^ Hmm, maybe Stillman is the worlds best photoshop artist... My punky is still in it's pot - Finding time to get it in the ground is proving challenging... So I'll settle for throwing wild photographic manipulation accusations @ stillman for now to try and save face
Stillman Posted October 15, 2013 I'm using a lot of Canna and have started hitting it with PK13 14, Boost , molasses and spraying it with diluted milk twice a week. Its a pig I could water it twice as much and it would love it.
GoOnThen Posted October 15, 2013 There isn't going to be any stopping that beast. I have come to the conclusion that growing pumpkins is like owning a dog. Sounds like a cool Idea at the time. They are cute when they are small but as they grow they take over your life and yard destroying every thing in there way They get more demanding wanting to be fed, watered checked for bugs and groomed and you have to do it all as the kids have lost interest. When they are done you have big piles of shit to clean up and the kids will be nowhere to be seen. Cheers Got

Stillman Posted October 18, 2013 we had a bit of rain here today so that will help the big bugger root down its vines. If the kids don't wreck it I reckon it will go alright.
