zed240 Posted November 21, 2014 Bridgesii from seed - pics from 09/08/2014 and 20/11/2014. Munted Eileen pup that had stopped growing due to insect damage. Figured I'd graft it and I assume that either the graft or the stock will pup although in my dream world the scion will keep growing into an Eileen mutant.

zed240 Posted December 3, 2014 Had a pup come out of the stock of this graft that was taking lots of energy away from the original scion so I decided to try and graft another L Willy seedling to it. We shall see if it takes......
Dreamwalker. Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) Out of all my grafts, using these large (1.5 - 3m long) San P pupping logs for grafting has given by far the best growth rates for the scion. The ropes below are holding them from falling over, as they have very little pots, barely lager than the circumference of the log. Stenocereus marginatus & left scion saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) & yeah this is their true colour. The saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) seedlings (AZ's) are only 10 mm high x 10mm wide in their pot. left scion saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) 2 x saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) birds eye veiw 5 x harrisii scions, 3 are 200 - 300mm long, 1 long 1 is 2 doubled (middle right side), 1 tiny 1 hasn't grown, but seems solid (lowest middle) note the seedlings in the pot are still only 10 - 15mm high. zed240 Posted December 19, 2014 Update on the one in post 407 - it appears to have taken, the loph is looking larger and more swollen than before. My plan for this will be to let it get somewhere near the size of a golf ball then remove it and the small part of the trich pup it's grafted to still attached and see how it roots with the little bit of trich acting as a rootstock but buried.... Looking forward to seeing how it pans out.
mutant Posted December 22, 2014 ^^^ its gonna work fine... the stock usually easily trained to act like one

Berengar Posted December 31, 2014 Interbeing's pachanoi 'fields' X pasacana. Looks pretty much like a Trich for now, but with shinier, lighter green skin than most others. It has grown nicely over the winter, I can't wait for it to start showing more mature characteristics.

dawnbeaver Posted January 3, 2015 Nice!!! What is that spiny dude and the furry ones? I lost track of which was which on some of my seedlings, I think the spiny one may be a frailea pygmaea. The furballs are Cleistocactus strausii.

Dreamwalker. Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) thanks guys........I picked up a doz 1m stems last season & they flowered (long flowering season)...so I x & self pollinated (clones) them (using eg's cement method)...the seedlings are slow, my grafts are much smaller than yours...not round yet...they look cool round..They can handle down to -6c?...& look good......... They inter-specific hybridise readily...so I've been xing them with everything this season. gr33ntea Posted January 6, 2015 Did this graft, i am surprised it survived. I forgot what the scion was called, it is fuzzy to touchhttp://i.imgur.com/vCw8KPW.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/U7F9a3i.jpg
mutant Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) ^^ seems like Rebutia/sulcorebutia of some kind.. I had spidermite problem in some of those I did.. They should be quite a spectacle when it grows a bit and flowers like crazy. Rebutias already flower a lot. Here's an underground stock-graft I have done, I thought it would be more impressive in digging this up, what what the hell here you are... This was done in seedling state, its an astro asterias with 10cm width.. It has been having trouble with mealies... Selinicereus often does not-so-dense root ball, but I wonder if mealies played a part here. The top part of the soil had only pebbles and it seems the stock trained itself fine... this was greenwhen first gone underground... some 10-12 cm selicereus stock...
