mutant Posted October 27, 2012 this is perhaps the best automn season I have seen, 8-9 years I am into it. mid-September rains were strong, even if they lasted a couple days only, and the woods I usually pick are especially turned on to fruiting. This time variety was bigger. Boletes and A.ceasarea end, Cantharellus and Craterellus start! I also found my first A.muscaria for the year, always a happy occasion.

mrpink63 Posted December 6, 2012 Which country are you? I'm in germany and we never get A. caesarea, and B. aereus are also virtually unknown! This year was good but short. Missed some clusters of huge B. edulis in early july! who'd have thought! it was so dry. But got alot of nice plump B. pinophilus in sept & oct )

mutant Posted December 7, 2012 Greece - ceasar is a mediterranean mostly mushroom, thats why youdont find it in germany. its common in italy and spain too. re: muscaria I did not take a photo. I did not pick this year any. strange, it was not very prevalent this year, but panther had an explosion early on.
