bogfrog Posted November 17, 2012 Just thought I would share this here, Last year Nitrogen sent me 13 seeds of TPM x SS01, i sowed them all with giddy delight, i had ten survive to this day, which are roughly a year old now. They are finally beginning to show signs of mutation. Quite hard to get a picture of such little cacti, but here's what we can all look forward to from this latest batch of seed Thanks Nitrogen
nitrogen Posted November 17, 2012 Right on - I have wondered how those would turn out - those babies are actually SS01 x TPM, not the reverse. My comrade Mel/vin made that cross from the TPM pollen and his SS01 - thing is, he tried to get it to take on several of the SS01 flowers - none made it but one - my TPM pollen was getting kinda old, but we figured it was worth a go. Problem is, he is not confident that the SS01 was pollinated either fully or at all by the TPM, given the other flowering plants in the garden at that time, and the lack of success with the TPM pollen on the other flowers - tiny little fruit it was too.. Anyhow, hope those freaky genetics got in there - I haven't seen any mature examples of that cross yet..

Stillman Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) Nitrogen I think I have a couple seedlings sso2x tpm I got the seeds from Tripsis I grafted 2 or 3 to peres and they took but no mutation sadly. I gave 4 seeds to Naja I'm not sure how he got on, its great news they are showing mutated growth Bogfrog keep us posted. naja naja Posted November 18, 2012 u actually sent me 5, all 5 sprouted, all were grafted, 2 have taken 2 others might, 1 is a gona for sure. They are only 2-3 weeks into active growth and are ~15mm tall and very fat, growing very fast now, shouldn't take too long to see if they mutate. Oh, and I will be grafting u up a loph this week, they are just flowering atm. Peace N
