I tried to be mindful, but I kept forgetting to do it.

That was a pissweak joke I know, but it is also a problem when you begin this sort of practice. It's easy to do it for a while and then just fall back into the same old habits. Sometimes you get distracted and react to certain stimuli in the same way you always have and before you know it you're back on autopilot so to speak.

It does take some commitment to get into being mindful and overcome the natural tendency to react to things or fall back into the old familiar rut.

I'm currently practising a form of mindfulness referred to as detachment to get back on the right track. Being detached from the negative aspects of life particularly has helped me get past my natural tendency to react and fall back into the autopilot mode.

Thanks for those PDF's I'll check them out when I get a chance.

I didn't until now know this journal existed, and what do you know, I have access too! I'll be spending some time with this one for sure.

Weed does it without me having to put any effort in

Really? I found the total opposite, very distracting and difficult to calm the chatter and be genuinely attentive. But then I don't have a beard. Hmm.

everyone's different... i consider myself lucky in this regard, it depends on what you want and fortunately what i got was what i wanted.

there are plenty of other things though that can provide clarity...
