Trichocereus clones show off

Recommended Posts

P1070125.jpg

pachanoi monster & crest, kada strain. i dont dare to cut it yet

P1070181.jpg

bridgesii found in some multistore , I call it praktiker. it tends to go 4 and even 3 rib, like shown here and it is 'black plague' positive

P1070159.jpg

that's what I call 'standard us bridgesii' from habit, it's my first bridgesii and second trichocereus I got to own, also black plague infected, here interestingly showing 2 x 4 rib puppies

P1070167.jpg

P1070166.jpg

P1070165.jpg

an australian clone, Tig, also a bridgesii, here are 3 shots of Tig showing a very characteristic 4 spine motive, Gunter I think had commented on that, somebody said PsychoO also does this.

P1070121.jpg

T.Pasacana, created by Philocacti and gifted to me, thanks a lot dude, it grows much faster than my terschecki old graft.

P1070120.jpg

here it is, the terschckii. It seems that this graft was fucked up in the long run. It's only a bit bigger [!] than own rooted ones from the same sowing...

P1070178.jpg

euro [holland] sourced scop. the same clone, planted outside, was the first tricho to flower for me this year.

My Icaros [peruvianus], bought/sown by sab. seems like he is reaching maturity any time now

P1070150.jpg

T.glacus kk336 , also sown by sab

P1070147.jpg

Yowie, NZ sourced. Pretty new in the collection, have not seen much of him

P1070146.jpg

'NZ pachanoi' , same as above

P1070148.jpg

Perhaps my favourite cactus, Efi, its a T.taquimbalensis

P1070154.jpg

peruvianus, 'Los gentiles' sown by sab

P1070155.jpg

These were suypposed to be pachanois, but I guess they look macrogonoid peruvs, what do you think?

Man, I am bloody jealous of some of your cacti, mutant!

I really love the T. pachanoi crest/monstrose and that gorgeous T. taquimbalensis. How old is the T. taquimbalensis? Does it grow slowly?

As far as I can tell from the pic, that's one of the strains referred to as "Roseii".

thank you all for feedback, I appreciate a lot

EG> yup sure there's praktiker, one of the oldest multistores, at least one of the oldest if not the oldest in my hometown. I was too surprised to see trichocerei at them. I think it was bought from a greek nursery though

san p>

yeah, they are fine, you're the man dude, thanks!

tripsis>

How old is the T. taquimbalensis? Does it grow slowly?

its some 3 y.o or 3,5 , and its growing pretty fast. I cut the pup yesterday [i have slept at all and repotting and gardening for over 20 hours in a row :P] and it had it own root, small but present!

quarter>

by 'black plague' I refer to black rot, some bacteria commo - very common- is many clones of Trichocerei. It isnt deadly normally, but it can leave lasty scars.

ballzac>

thanks kool to know that about 'Rosei'

Why did they call it tig? whats a tig?

and marcel>

no, no serian rue as of yet

again thank you all

Don't forget that there are two quite different strains that are commonly referred to as roseii, and even variation within those strains. Here's my roseii for comparison. I think this is roseii #1, though can't remember for sure which is which :scratchhead:
