QLD meet, get together!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, have come into some free time as im not working anymore

and have a heap of time,

and also a car this time round

garden is looking good even with all the cold weather, except all the weeds ill have to pull out. Caapi is a monster now, she grows so quick, trying to contain it to a little area, but its not working too well

have some plants/cactus to give away or whatnot,

so who's keen for a meet?

Where is a good spot for everyone?

relaxed barbie in a park, botanical gardens, amanita hunting in pine forests ???

what time suits everyone the best?

I would be keen. Never met anyone from this site so a little hesitant. Im sure there are alot of us that live here in Queensland... So a get togeather sounds great. My suggestion would be a BBQ. Nothing like a good feed nd a couple of beers to get the chatter going.

a BBQ and a bit of a foray in the forest somewhere sounds great! mt glorious is good but might be a bit far away for some people. always wanted to visit glass house mountains too, might be fun to climb to the top after a BBQ or something. lots of pine forests in that area aswell.

depends which mountain you want to climb. tibrogargan is a major effort and if we try beerwah at least a couple of us will be flown to the morgue in a rescue chopper.

good suggestions though any more? :)

I have have hiked (emphasis on the hiked, this is NOT a climb)(Thunderideal i would do Tibro or Beerwah with ya. Have all my own gear) Wollumbin 17 odd times all at night and all heavily intoxicated (except the few times i have been designate driver then sanity and sobriety have prevailed as my choices don't just affect me then :S) Nothing like been the first to see the first rays of the new day beaming down on everything for 200km in every direction. Much cooler that way too...its not cold until you get to the top.

Could always hike it for sunrise for those who are keen and be back down in time in the morning to meet up with the others for BBQ (more drinks) and foraging around the bottom parts of Mt. Warning park studying her interesting botany?

Kalika....optimism is where some of the greatest ideas are born.

Just add the motivation and will, and you'd be surprised at the amazing things that can be achieved.

Ow i have a serious back injury too.... so being obese or something is no excuse... no obstacle can not be overcome, no dream un-attainable...short of me wanting to give birth(i have a penis)

ummmm

don't tempt me man

it's a dreadful thing, climbing mountains, risking your life needlessly.

wasn't really thinking of ascending the peak cliff-hanger style, just an easy walk on the trails.

hey so far we have two options

1)

http://www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/sitePage.cfm?code=maroochy-botanic-gardens

I visited this place on the weekend and its pretty nice, some funky sculptures around the place.. and also a tabernaemontana pandacaqui.

only bad thing is the travel for people Brisbane side...

2)

Is one of the glasshouse mountains,

and is a little less driving for the people south side

Im happy with either one, so if everyone gets there preference in we'll go from there...

seems number 2 is the one most people are keen on...

Anyone keen for pedro cuts?

Number 2 sounds a lot easier and more preferred for me. Havnt spent a whole lotta time in that area though anybody got a good meeting place to get things kicked off.

Always keen for more pedro cuts. Will bring a bunch of brug cuts and some HBWoodrose, MGlory and Loph seed if anybody is interested. Any one with pedro seed and is willing to swap would be cool too.
