Quill Posted May 25, 2010 Last night while watching South Park i caught an ad for Costa's Garden on SBS. He's doing a bit on some guy that collects cacti and how they run his life. I'm sure there'll be some nice cacti on display. From SBS website Tonight, Costa explores how gardens mean different things to different people. For some cacti are habit forming, while others are passionate about chemical free vegetables and herbs. The Mizaan volunteers put their Islamic faith behind a bush regeneration project in Sydney's south west. And a lot of work has been done at the Tembeleski house to transform their backyard into a sustainable garden but there's still a bit left to do. Costa installs an aquaponics system so Cane can grown veggies and fish in the garden, a vine-growing tunnel to create the perfect bike path, and five topiary frames so the kids can have their own living letters. (Commissioned by SBS in English) (Entertainment) G CC WS Airs on Thurs, 27th of May 8pm Worth a watch

shruman Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) No not coincedental at all, Costa is the host of the gardening show, he simply done a segment on cactus, the peyote & ario's were owned by some other bloke. Was a good ep, some nice cacti, liked the aquaponics bit, that was so cool, he did'nt mention the price though, ready made is prohibitively expensive for most (although I could see costs being recouped quickly enough), just thought that was odd I've seen other eps were he was keen to tell the price of things. Alice Posted May 28, 2010 There is a link to the website that does the aquaponics system on the Costa website, which I think he mentioned during the show? Quite expensive yes, but you pay for the convenience of a ready made kit I suppose. They look well made and sturdy.
