ballzac Posted December 10, 2009 I saw both flight of the navigator and DARYL within recent years, for old times sake. The former stood the test of time. The latter did not.

FancyPants Posted December 14, 2009 DARIA! In high school I WAS Daria. LOL one afternoon after a mufti day (where you're allowed to wear whatever you want rather than school uniform, for those who don't know) I was watching Daria and it was the episode she went to a concert so she was wearing a black shirt and jeans. I realised I too was wearing a black shirt and jeans. My glasses in high school were also fugly round things lol.

Leslie Nelson as a the most recognized actor who turned out a great comady actor perhaps argueably like Peter Sellers.
ballzac Posted December 20, 2009 Forbidden planet is one of the truly great science fiction classics. Not many sci-fi movies from that era had such a daring plot. I would not, however, compare Leslie Nielson to Peter Sellers as a comedic actor. Nielson is good in his element, but Sellers was one of the most versatile comedic actors of all time IMO. Perhaps a modern equivalent would be Jim Carrey who has, in recent years, shown more depth and versatility as an actor than I think anyone would have given him credit for early in his career.
