Know Your Mushrooms

Hunt for wild mushrooms and discover the deeper cultural experiences inspired by fungi

Inspired by a conversation with filmmaker and mushroom buff Jim Jarmusch, counter culture specialist Ron Mann (Tales of the Rat Fink, PW 2006) sets off to the annual Telluride Mushroom Festival in Colorado. There he encounters the unique sub-subculture surrounding fungi that includes an unlikely assortment of nerds, nuts, hipsters, tripsters, artists, chefs, musicians, foodies, foragers, and seekers, all paying homage to the mighty mushroom.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with special guest Ron Mann and a

psychedelic party until late! and a Show by Celia Curtis

Something about the time of this post indicates I may have picked a bad time to check the forum...

Hey yes...bad timing. The movie was pretty good and a few familiar faces around from SA. If you've read Mycelium Running it wont contain anything new for you. Is kind of like a beginners guide to mushrooms: magic, edibles, oil eating, cordyceps etc Tied together well with some nice graphics and some cool characters.

Was a fun night.

Yeah it was a good film, as above not much in the way of new info, the 'mushroom gypsy' as lifestyle was interesting though.

I sure enjoyed the night, it was quite magical in many ways and the chocolate was just yummy
