santiago Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Random topic, using the topic title what is the top 3 in the history of mankind. Fish Corn Salt oops i realise i may have posted in the wrong forum area so my philosophy is that fish are ancient and self sustaining, corn was just a random first thought and salt is perhaps one of the few minerals that humans eat and need for survival, we do have a high salt content ourselves and its good for preserving meat, otherwise if i wanted global domination i would go for cows (beef), rice and uranium. ThunderIdeal Posted June 22, 2009 this is a kind of "how we got here" list beef (dung loving mushrooms) wheat (first and foremost crop in the areas which sprouted the most rapidly advancing cultures) definitely agreeing on silica
Alchemica Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Classified wheat as a cereal, silly me. That was my first option for vegetable, but I wasn't sure how open the question was. Make it a vote for wheat. Nothing like a good ergot host and food to speed up evolution. Edit: I'm liking diamond more and more for the mineral but can you buy one??? santiago Posted June 22, 2009 Good point technically wheat is not a vegetable right but a wild hybrid grass, maybe a tomato has more in common, i suppose the answer Alchemica is that the question is open so wheat is allowed, bread beer gravy yum all common products of flour, now its just a matter of figuring glass out, silica. ThunderIdeal Posted June 22, 2009 not to mention semiconductors. i guess i was thinking of vegetable as plant but the broadest definition of vegetable means any plant part used as food so wheat can be vegetable.
