Garbage Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) Should i contribute a pair of scissors to keep the tradition alive? Taylors Eye Witness perhaps? Maybe a clip point and castrator... Edited November 12, 2008 by Garbage
alkatrope Posted November 13, 2008 Working on all the legal stuff to do with the raffle with alkatrope, what i can say is the draw will be after ega, legal stuff, but we hope to get tickets up for sale before then. But we can still work on getting all the cool prizes together for when we get the green light. Indeed, some little hiccups are delaying the raffle but keep sending in those donations! PD that looks very nice, please send me an email - much thanks!
Torsten Posted November 13, 2008 Should i contribute a pair of scissors to keep the tradition alive? Excellent Edges have been a major contributor to the ethnobotany community for many years and their blades are treasured by anyone who gets the opportunity to own them. My partner got a set of kitchen knives from them and treasures them beyond any other [he's a chef, so appreciates good knives and has quite a collection]. While $600 hairdressing scissors are probably lost on most people, they do make the most excellent mulling up scissors too. get stoned in style And if nothing else, then think of the resale value.... RonnySimulacrum Posted November 13, 2008 Yep the irony of a $600 par of scissors being use to cut up grass has always been evident when we put the raffle together But it is always one of the prices I wish I could win as I know the value that people attach to them, Tim work is second to non and he is like a god to some people in that industry. Ace Posted December 16, 2008 Awesome pack right there - quite worthy! Just a little confused, on the site it says that the bookmarks are not tickets for a raffle, but the prize will be split between 6 people who buy bookmarks (selected by the powers of Audrey the cat). Isn't that a raffle? If so, and winners are selected at random, can people who purchase bookmarks to support EGA but cannot make it to the event be winners also? Or is it EGA attendees only? I'll make it to EGA one year! Some fantastic organising done for this one (as usual), and big ups to those who have contributed to the prize pool for these bookmarks! Should be an epic event! Torsten Posted December 16, 2008 Isn't that a raffle? No, to be a raffle you have to be approved by some agency. Bookmark sales are not regulated like that If so, and winners are selected at random, can people who purchase bookmarks to support EGA but cannot make it to the event be winners also? Or is it EGA attendees only? The event is over, but the bookmarks are still available. ANYONE can buy them. But only for a few more days - so hurry! I am glad that there will be multiple beneficiaries. With such a huge pool of goodies there is definitely scope for several people to be extremely happy.
