Firstly, organs can only be extracted for transplant or study at the hospital immediatly before or at the point of death. Not at the funeral home. They hare sometimes stolen from socioeconomically disempowered persons but this is actually rare and many reported cases are actually false claims made by religious extremist family members who didnt agree with the dead persons choice to donate organs. I wont say it doesnt happen but its not standard operating procedure.

Secondly, taking soft organs doesnt diminish the quantity or composition of the 'ashes' given to the family because when someone is cremated the calcined bone fragments are collected, the actual ashes are then thrown away, the calcined bone fragments are ground to a powder, and it is this product that is given to the families.

Personally I dont see the big deal. When I die I will obviously no longer need my body and it'll just be waste- like a used paper drink cup that folks will be free to recycle or burn.

But was I was talking about as was the use of cadaver tissue for sell in the medical industry and gotten by the funeral industry.

Bone and sinew tissue which die at slower rate that organs.

So such tissue was used in reconstructvive bone and sinew patients.

I'm a bit of a poor person, I reckon I'd feel vaguely cheated to be an "SDP"... you can't very well get about with a martyred air of expectation being "socioeconomically disempowered"... "poor" with it's Dickensian connotations really works on people's first world guilt lobes like no other.

Although here in Australia we could also use "hard up" "doing it tough" or the penultimate "just another Aussie battler" which is like another way of saying "I'm a nice person trying to win in an arseholes game and for some reason I keep losing". Very... Hebraic.

From now on I'm calling anyone with more dosh than they have any good use for "Socioeconomically gifted persons" possibly with "ethical challenges", "persistant delusions of unassailable security" and "a special need for external material reassurance". Then I'm going to force them to recieve treatment appropriate to their respective conditions.

This work really speaks to me. There is something about the patterns that really feels right. I think many people try to do this sort of thing and fail. It would be great to see these patterns incorporated into a larger artwork. eg Figures made out of these patterns against a backdrop of these pattern but in a highly contrasting colour scheme.
