Question

My girlfriends mum heard I had started to collect a few cacti and today we were at her house she gave me this - First up what is it? Also does it just need some fertilizer or water to get some colour back? I have repoted it into cacti mix (it was in dirt). The pup is a really nice blue green, would be nice if the main part could be brought back to this same colour.

Thanks all

You can repott the plant but fertilizer also works! No worries! The feeding is very easy and there are hundreds of threads if you should come across any Problems! And if you shouldnt find the answers for your questions, just ask! bye Eg

You sure that's peruvianus? 4 ribs?

It's something else but anyway just adding a bit of dolomite lime might help with the colour.

Hi Strangebrew! Well, The Ribs made me suspicious too! The spination looks peruvianoid though. Salem, i´d propose you to post a closeup of the yellow motherplant if you want to make sure! bye Eg

I've looked and I can't find a positive match for anything else but looking at the long branch and how the ribs are forming and the tip shape I'm really inclined to say it's a Cereus of some sort.

If it's a T.peruvianus it's a very odd looking one that's all I can say but then again I've never seen a 4 ribbed branch.

Not a Trichocereus for sure, but maybe an uncommon Cereus. I wouldn't say it was C. peruvianus at all though. I'd just lable it as an unknown Cereus.
