coin Posted November 6, 2007 wonderful ... if i may interpret it though -- to me it suggests spiritual connections and exploration without a lot of love ??
Sparkster Posted November 6, 2007 Do you still paint atm? I SHOULD... but study and work kinda make it impossible, to me it suggests spiritual connections and exploration without a lot of love Thats a pretty good interpretation coin. Not sure about spiritual, I think the title gives a pretty good summary of the whole situation I was in, and the situation being more about desire than anything else. watertrade Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) man id drop what ur doing and get back into art!!! there is no money in art! I can vouch for that - although it shouldn't be about the money either. Edited November 7, 2007 by watertrade
Sparkster Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) there is no money in art! I can vouch for that - although it shouldn't be about the money either. watertrade, thats absolutely correct, and its heart breaking for anybody who takes art as seriously as I do. Seems the only people making money off it these days are extrrremely bad artists who can churn out bucketloads of shit paintings that are sold "because they suit the colours of my house" Edited November 7, 2007 by Sparkster

There are even more 'getting by' by working and selling work. there are so many different facets to the arts industry. just not all of them pay $. of course like you say some know how to make shit and sell it. ! phloom Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) its a nice blend of surreal with some pagan/celtic design influence and a dark overall feel?!, original.....you like Hieronymus Bosch yeah? Im studying also, quit my job so am poor until I get another....its amazing how prolific you can be when you dont work. Just depends on whether getting distracted by painting is going to make you fail a unit :L Edited November 7, 2007 by phloom
Sparkster Posted November 7, 2007 you like Hieronymus Bosch yeah? ooooOooh yeah :D love the Bosch, and Bruegel just as much. Nearly every painting I've completed has been due to periods between jobs, which is why I havn't been able to complete a single painting since I moved over to Australia. Paintings like the one in this thread are all stored in my fathers shipping container somewhere in the NZ countryside.
