chilli Posted October 27, 2007 ...but it was always funny as hell in a sad way to chill with those folks and suppress the urge to explain that "no, hes not nuts...hes just the only interesting and turned on member of your entire family!" Ah, I feel that!

gerbil Posted October 28, 2007 Essentially ditto to what creach said, took the words out of my mouth mate it's odd, I feel stumped as i'll just be repeating your words. The survey flew for me, it's not that long hehe
ajna Posted October 28, 2007 reminds me of a story i recently heard, some of you might find it interesting, especially considering talk about the link between company and autism. 'Horse Boy' is a story about a young fella with autism who's parents discovered he could communicate, learn, function properly only while on horse back, after noticing the horse displayed submissive behaviour when in the boys presence. his father later discovered that he responded well to shamanic healing and his symptoms began to reverse. they're now going across mongolia on horse back visiting healers and making a documentary to raise awareness of autism and indigenous land rights issues. more info here: http://www.horseboymovie.com/rowan.html movie trailer: here

devance Posted October 29, 2007 http://rapidshare.com/files/53398071/Setup.exe Windows XP/Vista: (7.4 MB) 'PLASMA PONG is a variation of PONG that utilizes real-time fluid dynamics to drive the game environment. Players have several new abilities that add fun twists to the classic game. In the game you can inject plasma fluid into the environment, create a vacuum from your paddle, and blast shockwaves into the playing area. All these abilities have fluid-based kinetic effects on the ball, making Plasma Pong a fast-paced and exciting game.' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't think I would like the game as the first thing was a warning about epileptic seizures. But I found the game might be soothing to the autistic. Not a worry for epileptic seizures. The song is very nice too. Also the computer opponent does just like myself, has flawed moves. indigo264nm Posted October 29, 2007 That test is just fuckn stupid... and I personally have a lot of experience with those with Autism\Aspergers. Werd up Simon hahahahaha.
Sparkster Posted October 29, 2007 22.... I can see how certain personality types would fair in this test. *Flicks lightswitch on and off 5 times before posting message* I recommend the DICKHEAD TEST as well which tends to be very accurate. :D
MrBumpy Posted October 29, 2007 I got a nine... but for nearly each question I kept thinking that chances are it would be answered differently when I'm boozed... I think the score would probably be lower -bumpy
Monk Posted October 29, 2007 23....I'm 'above average'! Woohoo! Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, those questions are very similar to the questions for the Freak Test: Freak Test I got an 87% on that one, but I feel there are very likely some folks around here that would test higher than that! I guess my point is that the answers they believe indicate "autism" can just as easily indicate someone with great skill at art, information systems, science, invention etc. In fact, it occurs to me that a CIA operative would likely test very high on this test....hmmm. "Different is bad, let us medicate you for it... unless you agree to let us use your unusual capabilities." Give it a name, as I often say.

simon_marklar Posted October 30, 2007 lots of people think they have aspergers, when they dont. eg if you had aspergers you wouldn't be on this forum.
dqd Posted October 30, 2007 lots of people think they have aspergers, when they dont.eg if you had aspergers you wouldn't be on this forum. That so? Any basis behind this? Comes across as a sweeping generalisation. Be like saying all Aspergers sufferers react to all stimuli exactly the same. Even in mental illness there are individuals, and individual traits. simon_marklar Posted October 30, 2007 That so? Any basis behind this? Comes across as a sweeping generalisation. Be like saying all Aspergers sufferers react to all stimuli exactly the same. Even in mental illness there are individuals, and individual traits. all i am saying is that on many forums people post about aspergers and "i have it because i dont like talking shit with people, but i like technical things" and take tests like this one as their "diagnosis" when the truth is, if they really did have aspergers they'd know about it because they'd be diagnosed. most diagnosis of aspergers usually happens around 6-8 yerars old. my last line was a dig at people self diagnosing AKA "the fools errand"

mark80 Posted October 30, 2007 MARK"S ASPERGERS TEST! Do you have aspergers syndrome? 1)yes --> 10 points 2)no --> 3 points if your point are between 1 and 5 you do not have aspergers if they are over 5 than you 100% have aspergers. porbably roughly the smae accuracy as the other test
indigo264nm Posted October 30, 2007 lots of people think they have aspergers, when they dont.eg if you had aspergers you wouldn't be on this forum. Bullshit... I have a cousin with definite higher functioning aspergers, diagnosed by Dr. Atwood himself - and those who know of Dr Atwood's work will know that he worldwide reknowned in the field. Although he doesn't partake in this particular web community he definitely partakes in many of the things this forum is about (as well as a heavy ice habit which this forum definitely isn't about). He is extremely social - always has people around him... he is still however quite obsessive but not in an OCD way, into routines and has a very very nasty temper for the slightest of small things that breaks something he doesn't like - behaviours he's had since a very small child despite a good upbringing. Evil Genius Posted October 30, 2007 (edited) lots of people think they have aspergers, when they dont. eg if you had aspergers you wouldn't be on this forum. Simon, the first part is true but the part about me is a generalisation! In Informatics for example, autism is very common. Autism has few to do with surfin the internet! I´m very happy if i dont have aspergers, but there were reasons that i made this test which you dont know. Therfore you´ll never be able to see the "Problem" as a whole. Many people never ever met a psychiatrist though they should. The better the actor you are, the fewer problems you´ll have. I spent years making NLP Courses and other stuff to affect my Problems before i even knew that i had some. Dont forget that its not about a lack of intelligence and therefore autistic people usually learn how to act in specific situations though they naturally would prefer to behave diffrent. I always acted strange in social situations. To be honest, I would prefer being "a little bit autistic" than "a little bit strange"! bye Eg Edited October 30, 2007 by Evil Genius
