Well, seems to me that mexicali has burnt his bridges here. I guess he has received enough money from folks here who have bid on his auctions at ebay and now that he can't sell Lophs anymore he couldn't give a fuck about us. In fact, it seems that purchasing from him leaves you wide open to being reported to the authorities - by the seller himself. Well fuck, how much more of a low life can you be?

So Jack, can you please tell me why you gave this prick such a glowing reference? I gave him the benefit of the doubt on the basis of your assessment mate. Not having a go at you, but I'd really like to know where you stand on this after what we've just read here.

i don´t think that Mexicali is an informant as such a person would probably have been much more accommodating when dealing with sabretooth. These persons mostly know ebay rules concerning images exactly. They also don´t screw up a Trade like that. Besides such a person probably wouldn´t pushup the price of other auctions from other sellers.

But i have to admit that he has introduced himself just the way like an informant would do it too. Posting Big Pics of Big Lophs right from the start. A very good userpic. That´s the way i´d do it too if i wanted to create a feeling of confidence

But i don´t think it´s like that. It´s More likely due to a lack of Character.

Money goes by, a bad character is forever. Mexicali, You are threathening innocent people which had nothing but love for you. And i guess lots of money as well. Karma will pay you back.

I´d give an advice to his earlier business partners: better clean your house thoroughly for reasons of precaution. I don´t know if the Australian laws would legitimate a raid. I don´t assume this could happen but better safe than sorry. But i´m quite sure nobody at this board has the slightest trace of illegal things at their homes. No smiley. We have a few real serious cactus growers and specialists around here. People who did lot´s of fieldwork as well. What you are doing can´t be in the interest of any international cactus organization you claim to be an member of. In other words, you are a paying member of a cactus society. This fact doesn´t automatically make you serious. The only thing i can read in this email is arrogance. If i remember right, your knowledge of columnar cacti wasn´t flawless either. Most of the people around here never ate a cactus.This includes me too. And What about you? Don´t draw conclusions from your cut and dried opinions.

Now I´d better think twice or even more often if that still has to be necessary before ordering from him again.

Rev, most of the time the first impression proves to be true! To me this character was very subspicious right from the start either. Mexicali, despite this i´m a little bit dissapointed. Your email sounds so arrogant it seems you have fun threathening a girl. Sorry to say I really pity you. I thought you wouldn´t be in need of such underclassy tricks. If I was anyone who had been unfortunate enough to have dealt with this character (or lack thereof) I would probably give the Cactus and Succulent society of which he is a member a telephone call and inform them of the fact he is potentially putting them into disrepute.

Evolution, don't worry about WAQIS. Lophs might not be permitted in WA, but they are also not on the declared plants list, so the most they'll do is confiscate it. I doubt they'll even bother.

Mexicali knows the laws quite well and knows he is on solid ground. No point attacking him there. I think all we can do is look at ourselves and admit we've all been scammed by a greedy hypocritic fuckwit and to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

i would love ANY correspondence with mexicali(hort contortions), as i have payed for a crestate Echinopsis grandiflora near 3 months ago on Ebay by bank transfer, and have not heard from him since.I have sent him multiple messages over at Ebay (before he was suspended) and here as far as confirmation of my purchase and payment are concerned, to no avail.The loss of money does not suck as much as the thought of not knowing what is going on....i dont want to be a bitch and give him bad feedback on Ebay,(would that even apply now that his account has been suspended???) id just really love some feedback from mex. Jono, you can lodge an "item not received" claim at ebay.

I don't know what they actually do about it but at least it will alert the system. They can also provide you with the seller's phone number so you can contact them.

An account suspension on eBay is pretty serious.

A seller who I was dealing with became suspended after not delivering an item to me (and probably many others). He emailed once and then all correspondence stopped. His website disappeared. I was forced to put in a claim for eBay buyer protection. I got back $187 AUD from eBay and had to provide evidence of payment which I faxed through etc. but it took over 4 months for them to process it. A pain in the arse really. I can't remember the procedure exactly but it started by opening up a 'dispute' on the item which is mediated by eBay themselves. If you don't receive a reply from the seller after a certain time I think it was 14 days then you can escalate it into a protection claim.

Act quickly though.

He's obviously gotten a few complaints lodged against him to have his account suspended. I'd put in a dispute resolution ticket right away.

it's funny how reporting people to ebay, threatening their hobbies, threatening them in general so you can advance yourself can backfire in your face isn't it? you had one seller's cactus removed when she only wanted to sell a single cactus due to health concerns and she needed some cash. you had mine removed when i only wanted to sell a couple pups of a rare cactus to help pay some bills off. neither of us were aware of the prohibition on ebay (through ebay itself), i wasn't aware until i had an email back and forth with them about the reason (which i will respect and comply with although i may disagree it's their venue to decide what goes on). all the while you're selling the cactus that is prohibited on ebay whilst dobbing others in to ebay for selling the same cactus. then you start making idiotic threats about contacting OTHER authorities!!

you had a cactus nursery and wanted long term sales and apparently a monopoly on ethnobotanical cactus on ebay. you got greedy, you behaved like a low-class, stupid idiot (which you are still displaying here). now you're all upset because you found out the same rules and regulations apply to you. aww. boohoo. what a pain in the arse to realise rules don't just apply to everyone but you!!

NOW you think you can use me publishing your email address as a way to get out of giving plants to people who trusted you and paid you good money for them, as if ANYONE in this community would buy that line. what a piece of work!!

Evil genius, I think you are missing the point. Gollumscacti IS the main peyote seller on ebay in australia and these emails clearly show he is using threats and standover tactics to stop others from encroaching on his ebay turf.

I think these threats of calling quarantine etc are sickening as they essentially amount to dobbing someone in for drug possession. In fact it is no different than if I rang the cops and pointed them at suspicious posts made by darcy or rev (ie my competitors) in this forum in the hope they would get raided.

I really do not know what to say. Mexicali if you cant trust friends who can you trust? It not how you carry yourself in the good times but in the bad times also that get you trust and frienship, every time somone says somthing about you you retaliate with anger and abuse, even your 'friendly' emails to others selling lophs on ebay seemed highly threatening. Instead of approaching a situation as you doing us a favour be open minded because god forbid you may learn somthing yourself, even if it is to show more patience with people or to respect people, plants and the rest of nature. As for selling lophs on ebay I can see why you could think that because you had to do what you did to sell lophs that everyone else should have to, but at the same time i fail to see why you dont see it as a friendly offering that you and others can now sell lophs together. I saw an auction for a loph where you were bidding right up till last 15mins, you wanted that loph (unless you were just raising the price of one of yours but i doubt that is the case) and if you were the onlyone selling you wouldnt have been able to buy it. A good example for you is Torsten, there are many things Torsten does for the community which cost him money or he doesnt make a profit on, that is why people respect him, you dont just get it for selling/growing large lophs.

Thats enough of this as far as im concerned Mexicali has made it clear he wants to be deleted so could the relavent mod do so.

darcy he didn't have to "do anything" to sell lophs on ebay (more lies). his loph listings were deleted before he was (i actually saw it happen). if he is on the "ebay watchteam" or whatever, why would they delete his account? the guy is a pathological liar and evil to boot. i'm a long-time plant hobbyist and have shared plants on ebay for about four years to support my own plant addiction and the idea they would have a "watch team" made of people who pay to break their rules is really ridiculous.
