Some (pretty much most) of my plants

Recommended Posts

I rarely post photos of my small collection (meaning heightwise of course) in this forum, so I thought I would just do it for fun. This collection may not seem very big, but if you can understand the diversity of my collection you would probably be pretty impressed. In fact there are very few repeat species/clones, what-have-you, in these photos. I generally have one or two of each species/clone.

That's the "short spined T. peruvianus" monstrose. Some consider it a T. pachanoi, but if you want to do that it is quite different than the standard T. pachanoi, the so-called "Backeberg clone." I know Sacred Succulents considers it a T. pachanoi. Funny thing about this plant is that these monstrose limbs will form directly off of crested plants, similar to what I recently described about the crested monstrose T. bridgesii setting "penis plant" columns off of it. In both cases I contend this is one variation with two different growth habits that often get called two different forms or variations.

How weird, I look at my own photos of my own collection and I feel jealous. Is that strange or what? God I'm so odd.

Yeah, it is a little strange. But don't feel bad, I had a dream about a month ago that you invited me over and confided that you wanted to sell your collection and focus solely on Backeberg clones.

I woke up and felt hoodwinked, because in the dream I traded you a bunch of 35mm prints of old British films by Michael Powell, but I didn't get the chance to dream the part where you handed over your entire collection to me.

Wonderful collection, and don't worry, I'm not holding you to the dream trade.

:P

Hahahahahaha, you might be the first man who ever said they had a dream about me...not that many don't of course, as I am rather attractive...I think. Now girls, that's a different story, I get told every once in awhile that I'm in their dreams, but I don't think they honestly tell me what I was up to...or down to for that matter.

Sell my collection to focus on Backeberg clone....now that's funny.

Imagine how they would grow in the ground where temps and climate allowed...

I love the textures and tones in the collection.

I can see a few that might be Eileen...can you point her out Mike? Curious as to how she looks compared to some specimens I've seen...

My guess would be Eileen is in Michael's second picture in the corner...

I believe he hasn't got her that long, so she should still be rather small right?

Put me down for 1 buck

1) T. peruvianus. This one came from Bob Smoley and looks to be of the Icaros, GF, Los Gentiles, Etzner sort if you know Trouts work.

2) T. huanucoensis from Sacred Succulents.

3) "Trichocereus sp. "C" from K. Trout. Clearly a bridgesii sort like "Eileen" or the SS02.

4) This 4 ribbed plant came from Buck as T. peruvianus. It is quite similar to the T. huanucoensis, but in some ways distinct. A photo is below. It is next to another plant that came to me from Bob Smoley that also was called T. peruvianus and seems to be the same plant just with another rib.

Most of these are pictured at the Nook, but I can't seem to get my computer to upload anything much larger than 125kb on my dial-up, this even though I can on a cable connection. If someone would like to copy photos from the Nook and post them here then they are more than welcome as long as they don't shrink the photo or remove my name.

Sebas, you're right, Eileen is the bluish one in the corner of the second photo. I put a brand new photo up at the Nook, but it is too large for me to post now, so maybe someone can post it here, or else I can do it this weekend.

I have the pleasure of owning an Eileen myself, so I guess I was cheating a little bit.

Is this the picture you meant Michael?

Apothecary, there are quite some pictures of Eileen to be found at both forums. Just so that you know.

This is a shot from my Eileen pup, she looks a bit banged-up, but she's fine. Still is a picture worth posting.

Thanks for the ID's. I think the bluish no.(4) is a real stunner.

I found this picture taken in Huanuco. It could be T.huanucoensis I guess, it's not very clear unfortunately.

Thanks...I'm aware though :)

I was curious to see how she grew in the US as all the other photos are from location in Australia...
