Who are all the cacti collectors from New Zealand? I'd love to meet some of you, I'm based in the Waikato. I don't actually know any cacti collectors personally except my landlord who only really has the t. pach o. monacantha and common ones like those. It would be awesome to meet some new people and share knowledge, resources, etc. I have a few bags of seed I don't mind sharing! Also, if it's okay with admins/moderators i'd like to make a giveaway thread for nz since the main one seems to be specifically for Aus. Since i'm fairly new to cacti collecting, I don't have a whole lot to give away, but as my collection expands over time I will have more things to part with. Peace and love!

Hey all, been doing a bit of bush foraging and have a bit of Tawaka spores to disperse.. Haven't grown this myself in controlled conditions or propagated in the bush yet but it is a good producer and tastes nice. Unsure of the medicinal properties but have read a bit about it being used to treat poisoning from Tutu (Coriaria sp) Open to trades of all sorts, if you are a person who can make use of the prints and have nothing to trade paying a dollar or two for postage would work fine. After any interesting seeds stones minerals art spore prints (for microscopy) yada yada yada Will have seeds of the following available Pukatea (Laurelia novae-zelandiae) Endemic analgesic worth investigating. Seed are still a month or two away. Kawakawa (Macropiper excelsum) Containing elemicin and myristicin.. Oh I am in NZ but will post worldwide if you are aware of the risks/laws involved with your customs and imports.

Hey guys, Was wondering if there are any fellow kiwi members in Auckland that have or know of any share/cheap accommodation up that way. My parter and I are looking for something preferably in Albany close-ish to Massey University, but anywhere in Auckland is ideal. We're both full time students, I'm 23 studying medicinal chemistry, and she's 20 studying philosophy, we'll hopefully both have part time jobs once we're up that way too however.. we do receive student allowance and can pay up to $260p/w for a room, although $200 sounds better for us! We have a beautiful black lab x kelpie who is 6 months old and although he's made it extremely difficult for us in finding our own place up that way, we could never give him up! so we need room for our baby! he's very well behaved and is walked at least 2 - 3 times a day so he's not one of those bored, "i'll chew on everything and dig holes in your veggie garden" kinda dog. Of course I also have an ever growing ethno collection that needs space, so a garden is ideal. We're a pretty laid back couple, into nature and healthy living (without sounding cocky, i'm a pretty awesome vego cook too ) ...so we're basically just looking for like-minded people to live with who are down to earth, respect each other and can deal with us having a beautiful dog. I know it's a long shot considering this is a mostly Australian based forum, but it's worth a try; we've exhausted all of our other options, and lost a few "perfect" houses to other tenants (I think it's because I have a beard!) so we're willing to give sharehousing a go, once again! So if anyone knows of anything up that way, please shoot us a PM!! it's massively appreciated!! Sending good vibes your way!! Peace, Fyde.

I got a few tricho seedlings underway and I'm itching to have a crack at grafting some of the buggers. Just wondering if any of the kiwis on here would have any pereskiopsis up for grabs? If anyone has any alternative species they'd recommend as stock to put the baby trich's on I'm all ears also.

#Note from mod: S. divinorum is legal where centipede lives. Be sure to keep the discussion legal if it is not where you live. Thanks.# (Sorry ballzac, I will remember to add a disclaimer next time I post about plants scheduled in Aus) Hey all These Salvia divinorum plants have been in the ground in this greenhouse for close to a year now. Most of the new tips are a different shape and a purple colour. I can only hope these are flowers. Kicking myself because I tipped half of them just before they started growing like this...
