  1. Quick someone put these birds in a cage before they annoy any more residents with their drunken antics!
  2. A relevant and recent interview with Dennis McKenna on a New York radio station Interview with Dennis Mckenna - Psychedelic Salon
  3. nice I like! Something from a different genre – Eek-a-mouse: Ganja Smuggling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6r_MVjY9p0 Maybe its not totally psychedelic but its a very cool song about the a much loved entheogen.
  4. lol electronic music fans can be quite discriminating when it comes to genres. check out Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music for a tongue-in-cheek breakdown of electronic music genres. It's about 10 years out of date but still worth a look as the comments on some of the more obscure genres are hilarious. I especially like the Techno - VGM and Casiocore genres

    omg amanita

sounds like it's definitely worth the effort to prepare it properly. I think a first timers report can be quite valuable as its not tainted by tolerance or assumptions from past experiences. thanks for your report.
  6. Wikipedia: Valerian (herb) I'll have to remember that one... yummy.

    omg amanita

thanks frank, I'll definitely have to read Andy Letcher's book next. Sounds interesting: So I guess he answers no to these questions then? Guess I shouldn't fall under Allegro's spell before I read these other opinions. Either way, I'm keen to hear more about Ubza's amanita experience as there is so much conflicting information regarding this mushroom.
  8. maybe try making tea out of valerian root instead of pills. I find the process of making the tea, letting it cool and drinking it very relaxing. It doesn't knock me out but I find a small amount of valerian helps me relax enough to get to sleep without any side effects the following day. edit: only problem with valerian tea is your house mates will think your insane for drinking such a horrendous tasting and smelling beverage. I dunno, it tastes fine to me.
  9. agreed, but I'd hope most guerilla planting is done in landscaped gardens in public spaces, universities etc that lost their native species long ago.

    Fasting

I fast for 6 or 7 hours before a mushroom trip so that my stomach is empty and the experience will come on as fast and as hard as possible. If I eat say 30 minutes before then take the mushrooms, the effects take up to 2 hours to come on, whereas with fasting its more like 30 minutes. I eat lots of food towards the end of the trip to "turn it off" and help me sleep - something about having food in the stomach taking blood away from the brain maybe. Mushrooms are an interesting case though as they themselves are a food and quite nutritious. When eating fresh mushrooms taking them is like a meal in itself - perhaps the mushroom is designed this way to give the recipient everything they need for the journey. One certainly couldn't say this about LSD. I think gastric discomfort has a lot to do how healthy your diet is and what you have in your stomach at the time of ingestion. I wouldn't be surprised if following an ayahuasca dieta would remove almost all gastric discomfort from any psychedelic.
  11. yeah I saw neelix for the first time at rainbow serpent, and liked what I heard
  12. I would say for me psychedelic music is music that is inspired by the psychedelic experience generally, not necessarily just LSD - although I understand why you say this as LSD has probably been the most influential psychedelic in the contemporary music scene. It's great to listen to a track and 'feel' the psychedelic state of mind through the music - music can be a very powerful tool for conveying ideas that are otherwise ineffable. most definitely

    omg amanita

very interesting ubza, my 2 or 3 experiences with amanita have either been underwhelming or highly unpleasant. But in reading your post I see my preparation and dose may have been insufficient. I'm reading John Rush's book "The mushroom in christian art" and Allegro's "Sacred mushroom and the cross" at the moment, and it puts forward a pretty good case for amanita being an important sacrament in early christianity. And of course there is Wasson with his theory of amanita as soma from the vedas. From your experience, can you envisage amanita being worthy of this adoration? It never seemed to fit for me as the psilocybin experience seems so much more profound in that it can initiate the "contact with aliens" experience, see other worlds etc. Could you elaborate a bit more on the experience? Was it mainly a euphoria, or was their a sense of the "other" there as well, as with psilocybin mushrooms?
  14. I had a fascination with hinduism and the Vedas a few years ago, particularly the Eternal Mother Goddess Kali, or Kalika. Kali is considered the creator and destroyer of worlds, and I feel is therefore particularly relevant to the current global predicament where the dawn of new age or world of enlightenment and return to the feminine is eminent. In hindsight, I would have chosen a more light hearted name such as YipYip, in reverence to the sesame st aliens that haunted my childhood
  15. I see you have a thing for ms paint artwork chnt yeah I agree, the media has its dirty little paws in every pie. thats why `alternative' media and forums like these are important, so we are not just consuming content from a centralised source.
  16. A nice selection you got there! thanx for putting the time in to put all those links up sun control species is also good, progressive psy/house? I think everyone reading this thread should stop what they are doing and play their favourite psy track, whateva genre, as loud as possible! I call it neighbourhood music appreciation
  17. I don't agree taxes are the only way to curb emissions. Continued research into alternative energy sources such as geothermal, solar, hydroelectric etc will eventually make these technologies competitive in the market place, especially as carbon based fuel sources begin to run out. Surely climate scientists should be forgiven for being alarmist given that the issue at hand is the fate of all life on Earth. Given that Venus and Mars, our nearest neighbours are both devoid of life and both have CO2 based atmospheres, shouldn't we be cautious about releasing carbon into the atmosphere? I find the skeptic position on this issue hard to understand given the high stakes of destabilising the atmosphere. When articles such as these point to world domination as the purpose behind governments tackling carbon emissions, it makes the skeptic position appear pretty flimsy. To me anyway, I find conspiracy theories hard to swallow.
  18. thanks mate sesame st... subliminal st?
  19. thanks Shroom-Aura, I have reduced the image size. I need to work out how to do macro shots properly! It's fun to practice anyhow. There is so much variation amongst the photos presented online for the different panaeolus species that its hard to make any definitive ID. I pinched the stem a bit last night and this morning it looks much darker than yesterday, so will definitely keep my eye out for any more.
  20. anything from zenon records is pretty good in my book! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTGc492JuL4
