Programming Surprise Paul Stam... coincidence??

It's Sunday night! No need to get up early tomorrow! Perseid meteor shower!! Cloudless skies! ...backburning.

So i built this stand/rack/shelves thing with some excess wood I had. I dreamed up the design in my head and just went to work with the saw and drill. Each corner post points 90 degrees to the last - which seemed like a really cool idea at the time. I wondered why I'd never seen anything like it until... (upon completion) I discovered it can never be flush with the wall - or fit neatly in a corner. Doh.

Saturday works for me. I haven't much to trade but could probably dig up (literally) some Sida, a few cactus seedlings, and maybe a cutting or two. If it's a nice day we could picnic in the gardens... i'd be keen to pay it another visit at the very least.

what's going on with this series? as far as i know, It hasn't been on for a few weeks. then it pops up again but it's just a repeat of the last one about the legendary 'Darrell'.

The white stones are too scrappy looking. When I went back to the landscape supplier to get a couple more bags (as you do), they'd changed the formula - all sorts of colours and sizes. The crushed terra cotta however is uniform and the contrast between the red of the rock and the green of the cacti is really nice. Also, the terra cotta is more weedproof (if such a thing exists). Pach (El Pedro and San Pedro), bridgesii, cuzcoensis, knuthianus, scop x super pedro and an absolutely beautiful Trich called 'Lance' that is just crying out to be cactus of the month. Amazingly, not a single peruvian (but got some seedlings in the pipeline).

Finally finished off my garden after initially using the 'wrong' stones and then losing interest/procrastinating for two years. Before: After:
