Flux posted a topic in News & NoticesIn celebration of 920–Global Magic Mushroom Day, The Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney are hosting an event in which members of the community will share a variety of personal stories that highlight the psychological, physical, emotional, spiritual and philosophical significance of psilocybin mushrooms. We will also be screening the 2014 Film 'Little Saints', a documentary that follows six individuals and the director to Mexico to meet Mazatec curandera Natalia Martinez and take part in the ancient ritual of psychological and physical healing via the ingestion of the local psilocybe mushrooms. Julian Palmer -Sydney APS talk

Julian will address key aspects and nuances of working with psychedelics as a tool for personal growth, self transformation and/or as a spiritual path and how we might best get the most out of the psychedelic experience, thus utilising these tools to their full efficacy; i.e. maximising benefits and reducing risks. Julian Palmer has been deeply exploring psychoactive plants for the last 17 years and has spoken at conferences in Australia and overseas on this subject over the last 13 years. Flux posted a topic in News & NoticesHi Folks, We are pleased to announce the inaugural launch of the Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney As way of introducing ourselves and gathering community, we will be screening the film 'Dying to Know: Ram Dass & Timothy Leary' an intimate portrait celebrating the complex, controversial characters and epic friendship between Harvard psychology professors Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert as they probed the edges of consciousness and shaped a generation through their experiments with psychedelics. This is an exciting opportunity to see a great film about critical figures in psychedelic history, to meet members of the Sydney APS and to engage in discussion about building and supporting community, critical issues and future events.
