Court rules the sweet smell of dope smoke isn't probable cause for arrest in Texas.
MrBumpy posted a topic in News & Notices
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/front/1630904 to quote from the judge "If you knock on a door, someone opens it, and you smell burning marijuana wafting from inside the house, you must leave the inhabitants to smoke it in peace," I like this judge. May there be more like him -bumpy -
George W Bush's niece gets 10 years jail for cocaine
MrBumpy replied to Torsten's topic in News & Notices
What I wanna know now is if she gets a criminal record from this? If she is ever coming to oz, I'm gonna be out protesting about letting known convicted criminals into Australia whilst children are locked in a tin shed in the desert for not having a passport. also, I caught this bit "On Thursday, Whitehead told Bush that she could have faced felony drug charges if he had not decided to give her another chance." I don't really know how the american legal system works...but I thought drug charges were felonies (so I could be very wrong), so how can she be charged with out becoming a convicted felon? This has really interested me now..can anyone help me out? -bumpy -
George W Bush's niece gets 10 years jail for cocaine

hmm, interesting story "ORLANDO, Fla. (AP)--Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter was sentenced to 10 days in jail and led away in handcuffs Thursday after being accused of having crack cocaine in her shoe while in drug rehab. " 10 days? thats an awfully light sentance for possession of a dangerous drug. "In July, she went to jail for two days after she was caught with prescription pills at the rehab center. " hmm...second offence...is caught with a dangerous drug...and only 10 days in Jail? What alot of people wouldn't give to be Daughter of a Governor and Neice of a President. -bumpy -bumpy -
"So, what if you don't actually look like a rasta, but you is got a couple of Bob Marley cd's and when of dem funny hats with da dreds...is it legal? " -bumpy

jetblack : I know there is a Bus that stops there. I used to have to catch it nearly everytime I had a shift when I worked at the tourist trap on top of the hill. Living with no car is a bitch. Sorry, but I won't be able to make it. being a uni student with classes five days a week means that weekends are full of work oh well, gotta get the money somehow. -bumpy

Luckily I've got plants too. They're so much more relaxing (than kids)... You're telling me...you should have seen the trouble I went through after I tried to smoke my neighbours kid

dammnit...from all the shudders I'm guessing the sarcasm didn't shine through. Mesq : I dunno, I might be in the north side. I don't actually know what region you'd refer to it as. Whether the Indooroopilly area is North or West I dunno. Ramon : Botanic Gardens at Mt. Cootha? Sounds like a good place to me. -bumpy

I think its just funny that they are worrying about the possibility of Kava causing liver failure, when it is very well known that Alcohol will kill your liver a hell of a lot quicker. (not that I'm advocating banning alcohol either). -bumpy

dubius : When you say Oxley do You mean the suburb in Brisbane? if so, not a high unemployment area. Lots of nice middle class families living there and along the train line into Sherwood, Chelmer and indooroopilly. Not too mention its close proximity to the city. There might not have been too many jobs in the actual suburb, but I find it hard to believe that that area had a high number of unemployed people living there (unless they were dole cheats living with their parents). -bumpy

although, since this is coming from singapore it doesn't surprise me. Considering if you are a citizen of singapore, you can be randomly drug tested on your return from another country and face prison time if you results are positive for marijuana. -bumpy

whilst taking a break from studying for end of semester exams and watching temptation island, and ad came on TV for an aphrodisiac. Now, I thought the law makers weren't too fond of aphrodisiacs so I decided to investigate the products website. It quotes Tribulus Terrestris and Diamiana (didn't know they were aphrodisiacs) and Muira Puama (which I don't know what it is). another sus product or has someone found a decent aphrodisiac that the law hasn't decided in't safe for the general populous. oh yeah. "Now available at all leading pharmacies, healthfood stores and supermarkets. Just ask for WYLD for men as seen on TV. Or else make your purchase now online." hehe. -bumpy

hey peoples, An assignment I need to do is to write 500 ( I Know, bloody short isn't it) words on the pros and cons of Genetically engineering plants and develop a conclusion on the subject. Anywho, finding scientific information on this is pretty piss-easy, however, 10% of the mark is based on the originality of our article. so, I was thinking, instead of me just regurgitating what everyone else is going to be writing with the same sources from the same text books and internet articles, I was gonna ask you kind folk if you could post your opinions on the subjecy, what you think is good/bad about the issue, and why. thanks to anyone who is willing to help. (This post only needs to be here until the due date which is the 14th). -bumpy

DL : then pray that you are craving to watch the Dodgey 80's episodes that they show in the afternoon instead of the prime-time one. (just convince yourself you are laughing at the mullets...thats how I get through my day) -bumpy

Alien : I personally don't have a problem with cutting up animals, so I've stuck with my animal biology subject. But, I am first year science, and along with doing an animal biology course, I have also being doing a plant biology and biotechnology course. From this subject, the lecturer gave a short presentation on the subjects that can be done in second year, and these included Botany subjects and subjects to do with conservation and ecological diversity and stuff like that. SO if your uni doesn't offer botany or anything, pack your bags andmove to queensland "At my uni, (Murdoch) there is a group of vet students who are conscientious objectors who refuse to cut up animals. The uni respects this and allows them to get their experience by hanging around in the very surgery and helping out/watching and taking notes." hmm, does that seem wrong to anyone else? What are these students gonna do when they actually graduate and they need to treat animals? Refer the patients owners to their university notes and oversea the owners do an operation? You might not agree with me, but some things need hands on experience to learn. -bumpy

I'm wondering how long it would take for contamination to show up in a culture tube? I'm asking because I currently have an orchid that I had to prepare in one of my pracs, and, if it isn't contaminated, I was willing to give to anyone from the forum who was interested in spending the time to try raise it so they themselves, can have their own orchid. Although, I wouldn't bother sending it if it is contaminated (and nowing how dodgey some of my prac work was, it wouldn't surprise me), so can anyone tell me how long any contamination will make itself noticable? Also, if anyone wants it, send me an e-mail -bumpy

Isn't the amount of codiene in over the counter medicine regulated by law? I thought that past a certain amount (dunno what level, I have the number 12 sticking in my mind, but that might just be cause its the number the guy was wearing on his jersey who elbowed me in the jaw 2 hours ago) the medicine became prescription over. THats why Panadeine forte is (meant to be) only available through prescription. ALso, I've been asked to supply ID when I've been buying Claranase from my local chemist...thats pseudoephidrine and whatever the patent chemical in clatatyne is, So I wonder what sort of reception I'd get asking for a large bottle of roboDX. -bumpy
