    Three Brothers and replanting

    Staking them will help as they tend to droop like a weeping willow as they grow, also these guys like a bit of rocky soil...it will also help to get some soil from a another acacia (any species I believe) for inoculation (there's a thread here);
  7. Acacia 2 is highly unlikely to be Phlebophylia as that species is micro-endemic to one mountain in Victoria. My guess is Acacia. Complanata. Acacia 3 & 5 look like the same species which is not Maidenii as it flowers in summer, possibly a variant of A. Longifolia ( Sophorae perhaps

  9. Thanks everybody for coming out yesterday. Hope you all enjoyed the film... I found it a quite insightful look at the lives of Leary & Ram Dass and also the application of psychedelics to the dying process.. It was really great to see such a turn out and look forward to seeing what develops from future meetings. Building the email list at the moment, so anyone that would like to get APS Sydney mail outs feel free to drop your contacts here or message me here. cheers, Flux
  10. Hi Folks, We are pleased to announce the inaugural launch of the Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney As way of introducing ourselves and gathering community, we will be screening the film 'Dying to Know: Ram Dass & Timothy Leary' an intimate portrait celebrating the complex, controversial characters and epic friendship between Harvard psychology professors Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert as they probed the edges of consciousness and shaped a generation through their experiments with psychedelics. This is an exciting opportunity to see a great film about critical figures in psychedelic history, to meet members of the Sydney APS and to engage in discussion about building and supporting community, critical issues and future events. Tickets: $7.00 with booking fee ($1.31) so $8.31 total - purchase from Eventbrite link below Where: 107 Projects, Redfern, Redfern street, Sydney, NSW. When 12:30 Sunday 9th July 2017 https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/dying-to-know-ram-dass-timothy-leary-tickets-35505532002 Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/219138845245639/ Please come and check it out and spread the word.
  11. I'm not that familiar with 107 but the outdoor space on the rooftop garden is very chill. I don't think the bar there is even open outside of events that have requested it - which we haven't, but plenty of good taverns in Redfern. After the film we are going to have a discussion about the future of the APS, how people can get involved, etc...but we have the place till 4:00pm. It was a pretty easy process hiring the venue...we went and checked it out and it looked very groovy with all the A/V gear we needed, and the rest is done through an online hire application.
  12. Awesome Horus -great to have you on board, Member's lounges and after parties are yet forthcoming (I'm sure we can make something informal happen though). When there is fundraising to be done, we hope to host a Psychedelic Ball . Anodyne- unfortunately the 'drug & alcohol free' status is just one of those disclaimers we have to make for the less discerning of our species...also Redfern station can often have a plague of sniffers dogs, but we'll keep an eye on the Sniff-Off' page on the day and post anything relevant. 87_Botanist, a Perth society has been established check their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/868814189936614/

  14. Bit of a random question, but does anyone know what causes, or is the function of, the vibrant red-pink colouring at the end of the young phyllodes of certain acacias. I have noticed this most prominently on Courtii, Phlebophylia and Obtusifolia (as this young seedling so beautifully shows)...do other Acacias do this ?
  15. Flux

    Acacia ID please?

    How long are the phyullodes? Do you have photos of the whole tree, or large parts of the bracnches?

    pruning TBMs

    Hi folks, Any tips on the best way to 'prune' the little peni branches from Trichocereus Bridgesii Monstrose...is a clean slice at the base best or can they just be 'picked' off the mother branch? - I wish to minimise damage to the plant and also ensure new growth can emerge. thanks in advance

    pruning TBMs

    Thanks heaps - so essentially I should cut with a clean sterile blade just below the spines ? (in the first photo). I picked a few recently without thinking and then realised I might have done some damage (they look okay now though).
  18. So here is a poem that is essentially a composite of impressions taken from a dozen or so experiences with synthetic 5-MeO-DMT: Silver fractal shards pour into my sight, spiralled out and piping in – sudden liquid light. Yielding to an emptiness, a space at once replete, with boundless black expanse, infinite and complete. Unfolding diamond laden vista, quartz and crystalline, each-in-all and all-in-each, endless myriad facets shine. In charged electric ether-sphere, a brilliant lightening white, Brings from depths within, an arcane obsidian night. Sound vibrates this space in time and into being creates, a vastly liminal zone; a pure awareness state. An omnipresent force propels, the surge to rise and grow, with pulsing, phasing current in eternal ebb and flow. A vibratory purge, a harmonising clean, Orgasmic oscillation of frequency unseen. In somatic symmetry of tension-borne release, this fluid state of flux, reflects an inner peace. Translucent beads of potency in molten motion course, through quicksilver rivulets to the heart of source. As Spirit moves in everything, everywhere and everywhen, Its purity of perfection arrives at home again. This body, I, a vessel see– the breath of life is me, In gratitude of energy and re-membering to be. From alpha to omega flows, eternal animation’s shape, Always here, always now- essence of is-ness agape. As onyx mindscape dissolution, finds the centre core, of true, eternal, love divine in soulgasm evermore. Open - open - ever open… to receive with bliss; serenity, in stillness grace abounds, wholly-holy integrity. .

    Is this what I think it is?

    A gorgeous plant, powerful and mysterious but gentle and wise when treated carefully. Try picking a flower and placing it next to your bedside at night and see how your dreams change http://entheology.com/plants/brugmansia-aurea-golden-angels-trumpet/

    ID please

    The colour is beautiful...and is typical for Papaver Somniferum. Do you have any pods that have dropped their flowers yet (that's when they should start to get some size)
