All I can see is the first dedication comment - even though it says 2 comments, no other comments show. I think YouTube is slow to update too.

  3. Tetraethyllead - One of those beautiful chemicals that's in absolutely every person in the world by now, and they're still using it in aviation fuel - go figure... Also - the burning of heavy fuel oil in cargo ships dumps the same amount of emission into the air every week as the entire planets fleet of cars dumps in a year... Nice article OP!

    Law changes in NSW

I wonder if the morons that wrote these amendments have any of these plants in their gardens - it would be great to find out and have them busted under their own new laws...

    Edible agave?

I think eating Agave is fine, because you're not concentrating and transforming the nectar into fructose. I was getting right into Agave nectar as a source of healthy sugars, but after a bit of research it turns out that it's much worse for you than high fructose corn syrup! High fructose corn syrup is the devil that IMHO is a massive factor in obesity, in every damn soft drink on the planet. This article says it better than I ever could: http://www.foodrenegade.com/agave-nectar-good-or-bad/ Seems like eating the Agave plant is fine though because you'd be eating Levulose not Fructose... Edit: Fructose quote: 'That’s because fructose inhibits leptin levels — the hormone your body uses to tell you that you’re full. In other words, fructose makes you want to eat more. Besides contributing to weight gain, it also makes you gain the most dangerous kind of fat'

    Animal intelligence

My cocky barks like the dogs, sings, laughs and even says 'hello' in a different tone to each of the family that he see's - Dad's 'hello' is the funniest, the cocky in a deep grumbly voice says 'ullo col, erp, pfft!' Cos dad'll always say 'ello col' then burp and fart before going inside... and if he hears something drop and crash he'll shout 'F@@@@rK!' Amazing birds... The most amazing thing I've seen him do is to drag a tennis ball inside his cage, pull the door closed, then repeatedly throw the ball at the front of the cage - driving the dogs WILD! Then he laughs, ha, ha ,ha ,ha sqeeeeel! - fantastic entertainment.

    Made me chuckle....

This is what made me chuckle today - someone might wanna 'break' this 'bad' boy out into a separate thread it's so funny... A 500 piece leggo Breaking Bad Crystal Meth Lab - for children... http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/television/breaking-bad-8216crystal-meth-lab8217-toy-sets-spark-outrage/story-e6frfmyi-1226715378784 http://shop.citizenbrick.com/Superlab-Playset-CB720570.htm Edit: Sorry to derail your election thread - but the title 'Made me chuckle' fit the bill...
  15. ^ The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy - and all Douglas Adams material - because sometimes you do find yourself chasing a chesterfield sofa though a paddock, and for a brief moment, all your cares and worries are gone, and you're as mad as a hatter and it doesn't matter. (I've read all his books 32 times each and still read them, maybe I'll stop at 42 times, but I might not) The Hobbit: My first real book - I swore at my primary school teacher that I'm sick to f*ing death of reading about some stupid twit Jane that can run... 'Run Jane Run, See Jane Run - go f*ck yourself Jane you silly twit! So she gave me the Hobbit - which was absolutely well over my head, but I managed to get though it in 3 months, and it sparked my love of all things magical, and from then on I read books daily and still do.
  16. ^ A persuasive book on the subject of quitting ciggies is 'The Easy Way' by Allan Car - Very interesting to read between the lines in that book. His writing style is a powerful form of hypnosis, also related to triggers and memory. The annoying thing is that the first 5-6 chapters are self referential hypnosis to give credibility to the book, then the rest is the goods on unpicking learned psychological behaviours. The writing style is so good that you could swap out the word 'smoking' and replace it with 'drinking', 'binge eating', 'furiously rubbing one out' or whatever your crux is... its not the usual 'this is bad for you don't do it' style of propaganda. I found the writing style to be extremely informative for mind programming and reverse engineering thought processes. On the subject of psychological states - I've found that when you learn something in an altered state of consciousness, be it caffeinated, drunk, tired, emotionally charged, or any other 'non-baseline state'... the memories are most accessible to you when you return to that same altered state of mind. If I try to think about what I learned in one state of mind, from another state of mind, I find it patchy and disjointed, especially so when it's something I've learned from reading. The effect is less apparent when the learning was more 'immersive' Edit: I must have learned to type in a different state of mind to the one I'm in now...

  19. Planthelper - There's a book called 'Outliers: The story of success' by Malcolm Gladwell that goes into the minds and workings of the exceptional geniuses of the world. It's the authors take on how it happens, but when I saw your post, the name of the book was dredged from the depths of my mind. The word for forgetting words is Lethologica: Wiki quote: Is a psychological disorder that inhibits an individual's ability to articulate his or her thoughts by temporarily forgetting key words, phrases or names in conversation. It could also be 'Aphasia' - but I think that's more of a physical brain injury type thing, not just psychological. Edit: Also, I read somewhere about learning, that the more senses that are used during the experience of gaining new knowledge, the more easily it is absorbed and related to your bank of current knowledge. Reading alone was something like only 10% retention (hence having to read again and again), whereas a full subjective experience like being in a swimming pool, with an instructor talking to you, and helping you kick etc.. is sight, sound, touch, smell all piling in together to tack your current learning experience on to each of your other senses experiences, which makes it easier to recall because you've got lots of senses that can re-trigger the memory. A good test of this is to read a book and pinch yourself and make a unique noise like Blabberfart! when there's a really good bit you want to remember - you'll remember it more easily because there's more stimulus associated with that paragraph.

    Giant pumpkin contest!!

Speaking of patches... I have a posthole digger but no hoe - well, not a rotary one anyway . I'm thinking of doing the dig down about 80cm, 4 holes side by side, kicking the hole walls in and filling that with the special blend, then as the vine goes out, whanging a few more holes down for the extra vine shoots. Dunno how that'll go, but that's the general plan... with the hole 80cm deep, that should line up with the level of the dam that's 20 feet away, I'm hedging on self watering through seepage, I guess we'll see how that pans out. Still thinking of the over water vine, I'll bung one in at the edge of the dam and see what comes of it. Edit: ^ Ooooh, looking at your filing job there, I think the seed I have with the torn coat is still in with a chance... (*Indian runs off to find a file)
