Evil Genius Posted December 15, 2005 Share Posted December 15, 2005 I strongly doubt this being Trichocereus. Maybe it could be some Lemaireocereus or Pachycereus, i´m not pretty familiar with these. I lately received a lemaireocereus which looks similar but i also saw such or similar spination on Pachycereus. Maybe someone else can go more in detail about the ID. Looks like stenocereus to me.In fact, it look a lot like the stenocereus hystrix I had before it crapped out and rotted. Is Isla de Margarita on the carribean side? strangebrew Posted December 16, 2005 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Pachycereus pecten-aboriginum is a cactus from NthWst Mexico and an image search yields quite varying results. faslimy Posted December 16, 2005 Share Posted December 16, 2005 I agree, I think that website has the ID wrong and it looks like a typical Stenocereus. Pachycereus pectin is described as having a trunk and you can see that growth habit is not geared up for that.I had that image on my computer and it was the first thing I saw, nicely labeled as Pachycereus.
