MrDoRight Posted September 12, 2014 Today I gave the man who was installing my direct TV satellite a PC pachanoi stump & a rooted T.Purploensis (sp?) because he seemed interested in my assortment of cacti on the porch. Its always a great feeling to give things away to those interested . Now the stump wasn't rooted so i told him not to water it until roots began to form. Hopefully in a few years I will notice the plants in his yard and feel proud I helped get them there. My copiapoa Esmeralda also flowered on Tuesday but no seeds were produced
☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted September 13, 2014 well i think these are definitely monstruose pachanoi and not knuthies as suggested when posted the 1st one
MrDoRight Posted September 14, 2014 Bought a PC Pedro from Lowes today discounted at $5.00.. 7 inches down One rib of was soft & orange so I scraped away the (mold?) and am drying it infront of a fan before planting it outside. I assume once the surgery callouses over it will just leave a scab and the cactus will be healthy and I have nothing to worry about.

MrDoRight Posted September 25, 2014 Oooh wowzers ,that's a nice fawking pachanoi @ turtle_hermit. How difficult was it getting the plant through customs, or did you purchase one of those site fee"s which allow you to collect plants. (?) Doesn't look like any pachanoi I've seen in the states haha. Very nice cutting

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) toothbrushed, dustpan-brushed, alcohol-and-sulphured, and feather dusted all the cacti ......instead of watering them .... I kissed them all goodnight ready for their deep winter sleep , lowered the average temps in the home built propogator i tend to call ixtlahuatl.... noticed many cacti are still actively growing ......but darent fill them with too much water with the idea of winter ventilation in mind .....especially during the night.... and that's if I do try it out [night-ventilation] by the time it gets colder in the day [i didnt last year much at all; even in the daytime .... i guess the fortune i spent on spidermites last winter is ever a bastard memory toward the general anticipations there was however a brugmansia versicolor in with them that seemed to act as a mini fortress for the spidershites .. which is definitely not happening again this time round] so i guess I'll be playing this one by ear as usual mind you its 33.2C in here still even at 5pm , hopefully this late heatwave blast will knock the watr right out of them in time and also knock ayablanca and ayacaupuri's into rapid spontaneous germination with any luck, but I guess that's another story ... and the odd drop to only 15C at night nature threw at us just recently.... has me anticipating switching on the main heating, I'm sure it won't be too long Edited September 26, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
