    WTB in New Zealand

kia ora fellow kiwi members! I've managed to make it back home to wonderful NZ, but have sadly had to leave my ethno collection behind in aus. I'm looking to get another garden going here on the coromandel but have no idea where to look. I'm searching for the following plants to get started until i have a bit more money to burn and items to trade. - salvia D. (plants or cuttings)…from what i'm aware this plant is still legal here after Jacqui Deans embarrassing attempt in calling for the ban of salvia along with dihydrogen monoxide (H2O - i.e. water.) haha! but please correct me if I'm wrong. - mimosa tenuiflora (seeds or plants) - P. viridis (plants/ cuttings/ advanced leaves) - B. caapi (plants/ cuttings/ seeds) - HBWR (seeds) - Piper methysticum (plants) - pachanoi/ bridgsii (cuts/ plants) - herbage I only have cash to offer for now, but will no doubt have plants and seeds to trade in the near future. if anyone could help us out, or point me in the direction of where I should be looking, that'd be great! thanks heaps, peace!
  2. Hey guy's wondering if there were any members here into alternate/ experimental metal/ core or whatever... I'm keen on a colab ... I've just been messing around with a new track, but am getting a bit lost trying to work by myself.. If anyone knows how to program drums properly/ play drums that would be awesome as I have no idea. I've attempted to write them myself just to get ideas down, but it keeps getting me stuck. also anyone that plays guitar and has any ideas to chuck in, lettuce know! all idea's/ feedbacks greatly appreciated! won't let me embed so here's the link: http://soundcloud.com/fydesvindico/rough-demo

    Acacia Fruit?

Yeah they do look interesting, hanging off the branch like that.. That website does have a similar photo labeled as "fruit"... But I dunno.. Any larvae in the one you opened? They do look too smooth to be galls, but I've seen all sorts so who knows. Haven't come across "fruit" on any acacia except for pods. Will be interested to see what anyone else has to say.

Source: http://m.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/crime-court/popular-alternative-lifestyle-town-of-nimbin-becomes-target-of-police-drug-raids/story-fnje8bkv-1227055327565 Popular alternative lifestyle town of Nimbin becomes target of police drug raids THE grass may be greener on the other side of Nimbin for residents this afternoon, with reports of widespread police raids in the town known for its relaxed attitude to drugs. Police have arrested eight people and seized two kilograms of cannabis after a cafe and bookshop were raided as part of an ongoing drug operation in the Nimbin area. Seventy police, along with specialist officers, swooped on the town as part of Operation Oleary established by the Richmond Local Area Command. Its alleged the arrested have been involved in the ongoing supply of drugs; including cannabis, LSD, MDMA and prescription medication. Police will also allege the two businesses raided were selling prohibited drugs from the stores. The operation remains ongoing, with a simultaneous drug dog operation targeting the entire township. A third search warrant is being executed at a residential address in Jiggi, where police have allegedly located a large amount of mature cannabis plants. One business owner, who did not want to be named, said police arrived at about 11am and started randomly drug testing people in the street. She said there was a drug forensic bus, the riot squad and sniffer dogs in the towns main street. Theyre randomly drug testing people in the street, swabbing them, and they arrested someone for swearing. They raided a bookshop in town and the Oasis Café, closed them down for business and went through all their customers there. Its bad for the town because everyones just minding their own business and day-trippers are here to enjoy the scenery and it puts a very horrible vibe on the place. Richmond Local Area Commander Superintendent Greg Martin said todays arrests are the culmination of six months work by his Drug Unit. As a result of this operation, we have dismantled a criminal group we allege was responsible for supplying significant amounts of drugs throughout the Nimbin area, Superintendent Martin said. Im aware of the reputation this area has had for a number of years, in regard to drug use and supply. Concerns from members of the community have triggered todays action, and the results should demonstrate that we are committed to working on this issue. Those charged with ongoing drug supply face up to 25 years jail. We will continue to target drug offenders and treat them with the seriousness they deserve, he said. The operation is still underway. Further seizures and arrests are expected.

    Noob question: Contam?

^yeah how fast is the growth? Grey, fast growth usually ends up being cobweb mold, but usually isn't noticed until fruiting.. If your myc growth is slow and more on the grey side you could be looking at a bacterial contam.. Do you know what it smells like? Sweet? Could be a weak strain too, how did you inoculate?

  12. Interesting article, dunno what good it'll do for the aus ethno community though, being posted all over social media and what not... Link: http://m.vice.com/en_au/read/how-to-get-high-in-the-australian-bush?utm_source=vicefbanz For some people, psychedelics are a hobby just as immersive as wine or military paraphernalia. Its a hobby that incorporates chemistry, anthropology, and an intermittent hint of spiritualism. But the really exciting thing is just how many ways you can get high. Plants, fungi, and animals have been defending themselves for millions of years with various alkaloids. If youre into that type of thing, youll know marijuana is just the starting block. As with most countries, Australia has a range of indigenous chemicals that can be turned into drugs. I wanted to know more so I found a man on the internet and went to his house in Melbournes Dandenong Ranges. We talked about drugs and he showed me the Australian bush in a whole new light. Alex (it's a fake name) didnt want to be photographed, but hes a kindly man with grey hair and a background in biology. Like a lot of guys, he has a backyard man cave, but his contains a filing cabinet about the size of a sideways dining-room table, with each draw labelled with a different drug. Each draw is full of books, some of which Alex hasn't read. They get a bit repetitive, he told me with a shrug. Destruction of NSW Acacia obtusifolia

I know of patch in NNSW that is in beautiful condition, it is visited frequently by the looks of it, but only branches and phyllodes seem to be taken.. The trees are stout and bushy, almost like the harvesting of them is keeping them healthier than they would normally be. I don't understand the need to be stripping trees when there are so many more sustainable options available..

DIY Tool Autoclave Bags for Mycology Work

Pretty great idea, and a bit more professional than how I currently go about this... Usually I'll just wrap whatever in foil, then oven bag it, then pc.. When ready to use, spray down oven bag, remove contents and unwrap etc.. But it gets messy.. I like this idea of yours!

    Police State Australia

Do you think that this "terrorism" threat will get people behind the metadata storage plans since no one was really too keen on the idea before.. I bet the masses will jump on it now.. Also seems on (most mainstream) news sites, people are lovin abbot for this bullshit.. What a bunch of morons we (Australians) can be.

Hard to choose a recipe when I have chilli in almost everything, but I'll post one of my favourites. It's really just an improved (my opinion) version of vegetarian kofta balls. If you've had them at hare Krishna restaurants before, these are them... But waaay better! Sauce: 1/4 cup of olive oil 3 large garlic cloves 1/2 an onion 1 large carrot 1.5 kg fresh tomatos 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste 1/4 cup of basil 2 teaspoons of sugar 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt or enough to taste 3 fresh bay leaves 1/4 cup of diced chillis, half dry, half fresh is good, I usually chuck in a few habaneros. While heating the oil, crush and dice the garlic and onion, chuck it in and fry while you chop the carrot into 8 pieces. Throw the carrot in and fry for 30 seconds. Pour in the 1.5 kg of tomato that you conveniently diced earlier, and add the bay leaves. Mix. Throw in half of the basil, the pepper, salt and sugar. Mix. Add chillies. Mix. Bring all to boil, then reduce heat and simmmer. Usually I'll start on the balls... The Kofta balls, while the sauce cooks down into a thick chutney by the time it's all ready. Towards the end, around the time the balls are almost ready throw in the rest of the basil. add tomato paste if it feels like it's "missing something" or add extra salt/ sugar depending on what that "something is" Kofta balls: 2 cups grated cauliflower 2 cups grated cabbage (reds good but any'll do) 1 1/2 cups bean flower (any flower works) 2 cloves diced garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 hing 1 teaspoon garam masala 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon corriander powder 1 teaspoon turmeric Decent amount of cayenne powder Ghee or oil for shallow/ deep frying (butter/ oil combo works good too) Mix the grated cabbage and cauliflower in a large bowl (they both HAVE to be grated, only way it holds together). Mix the flour and all other spices in another bowl then mix the 2 bowls together, a butter knife works well to do this. Use wet hands to roll into about 20 balls, about the size of a ping pong ball. Shallow or deep fry until golden brown, remove from oil and pour sauce over top. Garnish with some diced fresh corriander and chillies if your keen.
