You raise some good points Torsten, there is more to this then just some silly prank. I don't think it was about someone's view from a balcony but rather some sort of political statement.
-
That is pretty low. Someone put some time and thought into this, therefore time and thought should be used to think of an adequate punishment.

couchsurfing.com Make sure you have a decent profile.

I was not sure were to post this but I thought that here was an alright spot. I have about 500 grams of vanillin for sale. It has good smell and has been kept in a cool, dry and dark place. I have no idea what it is worth but and enterprising person may be able to do something with it. Send me a pm with your best offer.

I think shark pod and shark shield are same thing. Nothing is going to stop a shark once it get the scent of blood and it thinks there is a distessed creature in the area.

How much did you pay for the independant tests?

Glad to hear

I agree with shortly, Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora) is not what you are after. Cinnamomum verum or Saigon cinnamon would be other suggestions.

I have a warm fuzzy feeling all over.

The source is worried about having to some real work by solving sex crimes as apposed to busting people for having a plant. Someone needs their head checked.

Those that you have listed are allowed. In fact you can import almost any type of seed but you need permission and you have to follow procedure. In this case you need to follow the procedure. The things you need to do are listed. I've included a few lines taken from site. Importer's Responsibilities 1. All consignments must be accompanied by a valid Import Permit or by means to allow the identification of the Import Permit. 2. It is the importer's responsibility to check the requirements of local, state or any other government organisation prior to importation. 3. A Quarantine Entry must be lodged for each consignment. 4. If plant material arrives to the importer without the correct quarantine direction it is their responsibility to secure the material and contact AQIS to ensure all quarantine requirements are met (e.g. Quarantine Entry, inspection, treatments and growth in quarantine). 5. The importer must contact the AQIS regional office in port of entry to confirm all arrangements for inspections and/or treatments of consignments. 6. The importer is responsible for payment of all associated AQIS fees and charges. 7. The cultures must be free from any bacterial or fungal infection, live insects, nematodes, disease symptoms or other extraneous contamination of quarantine concern. 8. All containers/culture bags must be either: - labelled with the full botanical name of the plant including genus and species; or - AQIS permits the use of abbreviations on the labelling of the container/culture bags provided that: a) the accompanying documentation (eg. packing list, Phytosanitary certificates, CITES certificates, invoices etc) and labels on the consignments correspond and that the documentation clearly identifies the plants by their botanical names, if the documentation does not match the consignment, or if the documentation does not clearly provide the botanical name, then the consignment is to be held and the importer advised to supply further information or details to verify the identification of the plants. ------- What ends up usually happening is it all becomes to much effort and you just put an order in and hope it makes it through without a little red piece of paper attached and no product.

Try again. I found something AQIS I have found with Australian law unless it says otherwise then you are not allowed to do it.

There are three known exploding lakes near Cameroon - Lake Nyoa, Monoun and Kivu that experience CO2 "explosions" from time to time. The lake burps and people in the surrounding area asphyxiate. Sounds like a similar concept to methane bubbles but the lakes are on a smaller scale.

I'm currently using a 75W incandescent and I have my plants sitting by the window to collect natural light, it seems to do the trick. If you are worried about seedlings getting to cold then you could use a heating mat.

I think Amazonian is right. There are species of ants that farm aphids, so the ants simply might have been moved them elsewhere.

Moving forward with a goose step.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a good idea separating into two sites. It would be a shame to lose the site to some crusading "do gooder" intent on trying to bring down the community.

I've looked at it and decided it is just not worth it. Sure I worry about chemicals in my food, but I try to eat healthy and exercise regularly. In the end if I finish up living to 85 years I'll be happy enough with that.

Thanks for sharing. m seabrensis is quite pretty.

Stop Drinking Bottled Water Now!
mr me replied to nabraxas's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
Don't collect rainwater from your roof. There are chemicals in shingles and lead flashing around windows and chimneys will contaminate your water. As far as collecting rainwater in an open environment it still needs to be filtered as rain collects dust, bugs, pollution on the way down. It is still probably more healthy for you than the chemicals that are used in plastic bottles. -
I've never had a problem, but I have only made a couple of orders. When will the new site be up Torsten? What will it offer that the current one doesn't?
-
I'll post just in case someone does not send you details, etc.

Stop Drinking Bottled Water Now!
mr me replied to nabraxas's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
Some good points raised. Bottled water costs alot more as well. I'm used to my local tap water and only drink that. After travelling around recently to numerous contries I did find some of the water extremely unpalatable and wanted a neutral tasting drink. I had to go with bottled stuff. -
It is a Pravda article, so you know it has to be true /s
