Eikel Posted February 9, 2006 Basically the topic title - can it happen? I know you can form pins on agar plates, but I'm assuming due to lack of air-exchange you wouldn't get pins inside an LC.
Bongchitis Posted February 9, 2006 Only seen reference to pin formation happening when a mat of mycelium forms over the air/liquid interface and you have a critical mass of mycelium ie colonised jar. A thread at the shroomery on Hydroponic Shroomz by Zen I believe talks about it.
spiders Posted February 12, 2006 Im not actually sure what an LC is - but when mycelia has fully colonised any substrate, presuming there is light and some air (not necessarily air exchange) - they will almost certainly pin - most species do on agar without any air exchange - some often form mature fruitbodies - cubies in particular. similar things happen in jars so im sure if an LC is in a similar boat it will happen
