Adrian Posted March 10, 2004 I'm not sure what the earliest limits of the S.A fruits are, but round here people generally don't start looking for subs until later in April. A few days ago I found a some Gymnopilus. P.S check up info on Panaeolus cyanescens (syn. Copelandia cyanescens) occurance in S.A [ 09. spiders Posted March 11, 2004 Depends entirely on the rains and cold snaps. In 2001 they started fruiting over there in the hills in mid-march if i remember correctly - and that year they fruited in melbourne until mid-september. If you find any fruiting off kangeroo shit, let me know
gerbil Posted March 11, 2004 we are starting to get some good temperatures though, slowly but surely, it got down to single figures last night i think. Rain is looking good for the coming months, but i suppose it can go either way quite easily. Can't wait for those cold winter walks, should be lots of fun. mescalito Posted March 11, 2004 Subs fruited around march/april last year in the Southern Highlands.

Shroom-Aura Posted March 12, 2004 Mount Lofty is a good place to look since it is where Cleland discovered P. subaeruginosa. And yeah most places in the Adelaide Hills contain subs. SA also has G. purpuratus and G. spectabilis and A. muscaria though most people aren't interested in them.
Guest electro Posted March 12, 2004 i havent been either, but i know there are some in katoomba, possibly some in balckheath, and prolly some in oberon
Plantsoma Posted March 16, 2004 Any pile of woodchip/woodchip garden is a good way to find subs. The Blue Mountains has favourable conditions for fruiting most of the time, sometimes hard to find up here, but theyre here (thru the cooler months anyway)
