mesq Posted April 16, 2003 Links would be easier if you already have uploaded the pics to an internet server... just post the URL or use the tag to embed in the post.

ferret Posted May 9, 2003 dude i never seen a cubensis blue like that! looks like a woodlover to me, prolly ps. subaeruginosa?..blueing stem, no ring, ascending gills, hygrophanous cap, looks like it mustve been growin on leaf litter, yeah?? here's a couple links to some pics on da shroomery the many faces of Ps. subaerogenosa Australia - mellbourne foothills fruits! spiders Posted May 10, 2003 The crowded, ascending gills and the general appearance of the mushroom make me 100% sure that if is a psilocybe (and im sure that it is) that is Subaeruginosa. Eucalypta has distant gills and a white ring around the margin.
mescalito Posted May 10, 2003 Yep I'd have to agree, same as I saw in wetland, eucalypt shady area. Nice pics btw
shroomy Posted May 10, 2003 ferret: dude i never seen a cubensis blue like that! ??????
spiders Posted May 10, 2003 CUbensis grown off millet - especially the Golden Teacher and Argentinean varieties stain very dark inky blue - and they are potent critters for cubies. My above post is incorrect - the whole white margin thing may be incorrect. Eucalypta seems to have an umbrella shape at maturity, no umbo, distant browner gills, thinner stems and gills that do not ascend.
Tryptameanie Posted May 10, 2003 Healthy young cubensis blue intensely in seconds, sometimes even staining in heavy rain.
ferret Posted May 14, 2003 yeh I've seen some dark-blue stained cubes... was trying to say I havent seen em that intense blue along the entirety of the stem. as in that big shroom in the last pic... especially from the wild. but then I've only ever picked one measly wild cubensis...
